00:05:51--> 00:05:54

Welcome, welcome, welcome everyone. I am so excited

00:05:54--> 00:05:56

to be here back with you for Ramadan

00:05:57--> 00:05:57

360.

00:05:57--> 00:05:58

It is

00:05:59--> 00:06:00

day 29

00:06:00--> 00:06:03

of our series living by the book, 30

00:06:03--> 00:06:05

Quranic principles in 30 days. And can you

00:06:05--> 00:06:07

believe it? We've almost covered

00:06:07--> 00:06:08

all of the principles.

00:06:09--> 00:06:10

It's amazing to be with you. I am

00:06:10--> 00:06:14

your host for today giving our, beloved sister

00:06:14--> 00:06:16

Hafsa some time off. Abdul Rahman, Justin Wood

00:06:16--> 00:06:18

coming to you live from the Midwest

00:06:18--> 00:06:20

in Columbus, Ohio where we,

00:06:20--> 00:06:22

just experienced the eclipse like many of you

00:06:22--> 00:06:25

did as well around the country and potentially

00:06:25--> 00:06:26

the world.

00:06:26--> 00:06:27

We had some amazing,

00:06:28--> 00:06:30

hosuf prayers. The the eclipse prayer was done

00:06:30--> 00:06:32

in multiple masajid in our city.

00:06:33--> 00:06:34

It's quite a blessing to see the Muslims

00:06:34--> 00:06:36

come out in droves. Many people were already

00:06:36--> 00:06:38

in the masjid for tikaf, so it was

00:06:38--> 00:06:41

really a packed masjid, It looked like it

00:06:41--> 00:06:43

was Jumu'ah prayer, and it was the, the

00:06:43--> 00:06:46

eclipse prayer, masha'Allah. So a big blessing, alhamdulillah.

00:06:46--> 00:06:48

Hope you were able to participate in some

00:06:48--> 00:06:50

fashion as well to remember the signs of

00:06:50--> 00:06:52

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. May Allah bless you

00:06:52--> 00:06:54

all. Go ahead and rename yourselves in the

00:06:54--> 00:06:56

chat as well. Let us know where you

00:06:56--> 00:06:59

are coming from. We really want to, highlight

00:06:59--> 00:07:02

our international audience today as we do have

00:07:02--> 00:07:05

a, a special special guest instructor today. Alhamdulillah.

00:07:06--> 00:07:07

We're super blessed to have you all with

00:07:07--> 00:07:09

us. It wouldn't be Ramadan 360 if we

00:07:09--> 00:07:11

didn't shout out those people who are,

00:07:11--> 00:07:14

making it happen for our brothers and sisters

00:07:14--> 00:07:17

who are most in need around this Ummah.

00:07:17--> 00:07:18

And so we want to continue to shout

00:07:18--> 00:07:20

out to them. In the USA, we have

00:07:20--> 00:07:21

HHRD

00:07:21--> 00:07:24

who had a fabulous presentation the other day.

00:07:24--> 00:07:26

Really got us to connect with those, orphans

00:07:26--> 00:07:28

and those folks in need. Of course, the

00:07:28--> 00:07:30

amazing work of our Canadian partner, Islamic Relief,

00:07:31--> 00:07:33

and of course, The Forgotten Women

00:07:33--> 00:07:35

in the UK, that organization. All 3 of

00:07:35--> 00:07:38

those organizations are doing tremendous work. May Allah

00:07:38--> 00:07:41

bless them and please continue to support them

00:07:41--> 00:07:43

in these waning days of the month of

00:07:43--> 00:07:46

Ramadan. May Allah Azhaja continue to bless all

00:07:46--> 00:07:48

of us in all of our efforts.

00:07:48--> 00:07:50

We also want to quickly, as we,

00:07:50--> 00:07:52

get into today's session,

00:07:53--> 00:07:54

just to let you know where we are

00:07:54--> 00:07:56

at with our campaign.

00:07:57--> 00:08:00

As of right now, alhamdulillah, the campaign has

00:08:00--> 00:08:01

been beyond,

00:08:02--> 00:08:04

beyond generous in terms of what the community

00:08:04--> 00:08:05

has come out and done, and we really

00:08:05--> 00:08:06

wanna take a moment

00:08:06--> 00:08:09

and appreciate that. So I'm gonna really quickly

00:08:09--> 00:08:09

share

00:08:10--> 00:08:12

that for you here. Yes. I will share

00:08:12--> 00:08:14

the Telegram group for the the salah InshaAllah.

00:08:14--> 00:08:16

I will I got you. But let's take

00:08:16--> 00:08:17

a do a quick screen share here,

00:08:18--> 00:08:19

and just take a look at that.

00:08:20--> 00:08:23

So this is in US dollars.

00:08:25--> 00:08:26

We crossed the

00:08:27--> 00:08:27

$300,000

00:08:28--> 00:08:29

threshold. So we're $309,860.

00:08:32--> 00:08:33

Our current goal is 325.

00:08:34--> 00:08:36

Each and every dollar we are using in

00:08:36--> 00:08:39

order to fund the tremendous work that an

00:08:39--> 00:08:41

amalgam dozen communities

00:08:41--> 00:08:44

around the globe. The ability to ensure that

00:08:44--> 00:08:46

students are able to access

00:08:46--> 00:08:50

authentic, reliable Islamic knowledge. That parents have a

00:08:50--> 00:08:52

better idea how to deal with their kids.

00:08:52--> 00:08:53

That kids can deal with their parents, whether

00:08:53--> 00:08:56

you're in business, whether you're in charity work,

00:08:56--> 00:08:57

whether you're a professional, whether you're a student,

00:08:57--> 00:09:00

and a has something for everyone. And we

00:09:00--> 00:09:01

want to continue to

00:09:02--> 00:09:04

support the efforts, the ongoing efforts

00:09:05--> 00:09:08

as we go for the next 20 years

00:09:08--> 00:09:11

of service to the global ummah. So please

00:09:11--> 00:09:13

continue to be so generous and so supportive

00:09:13--> 00:09:15

and jazakam lochir and to this community right

00:09:15--> 00:09:17

here who has been so amazing and so

00:09:17--> 00:09:18

instrumental

00:09:18--> 00:09:21

in ensuring that we have the resources and

00:09:21--> 00:09:23

tools we need in order to support the,

00:09:24--> 00:09:27

the Dawah and support the teaching that occurs

00:09:27--> 00:09:28

around the globe.

00:09:28--> 00:09:29

With that,

00:09:30--> 00:09:32

we have a very special moment

00:09:33--> 00:09:33

today.

00:09:34--> 00:09:34

And,

00:09:35--> 00:09:37

perhaps if you wanna mark if you if

00:09:37--> 00:09:38

you are tracking Almagrib milestones,

00:09:39--> 00:09:40

then you can

00:09:40--> 00:09:43

mark your Al Maghrib calendar inshallah to Arah

00:09:43--> 00:09:46

for today because I am super honored to

00:09:46--> 00:09:48

be with you as a host for this

00:09:48--> 00:09:50

particular moment. We have an instructor

00:09:51--> 00:09:53

who is making a debut with us, who

00:09:53--> 00:09:54

has not,

00:09:54--> 00:09:56

taught to the best of my knowledge, has

00:09:56--> 00:09:58

not taught with Al Maghrib in the past.

00:09:58--> 00:09:59

But Alhamdulillah

00:09:59--> 00:10:01

he is with us today.

00:10:01--> 00:10:04

And this is going to be our beloved

00:10:04--> 00:10:07

Sheikh Doctor. Taher Wyatt. For those of us

00:10:07--> 00:10:08

who don't know him,

00:10:08--> 00:10:11

Taher Wyatt is an experienced academic interpreter

00:10:12--> 00:10:13

and instructor of Islamic studies.

00:10:14--> 00:10:16

During over 21 years of teaching in Saudi

00:10:16--> 00:10:19

Arabia, he attained multiple degrees, including a doctorate

00:10:20--> 00:10:21

in theology.

00:10:21--> 00:10:23

He has since blessed us with his presence

00:10:23--> 00:10:25

back in the States. He is the executive

00:10:25--> 00:10:27

director of the United Muslim Masjid in Philadelphia,

00:10:27--> 00:10:30

and the president of QADI, the Quranic Quran

00:10:30--> 00:10:31

Arabic Reflection

00:10:32--> 00:10:32

Institute.

00:10:33--> 00:10:33

And also,

00:10:34--> 00:10:36

is associated with Yakin Institute as the associate

00:10:36--> 00:10:38

editor on Yakin's editorial

00:10:38--> 00:10:39

review

00:10:39--> 00:10:39

board

00:10:40--> 00:10:43

and the director of the Systematic Theology department.

00:10:43--> 00:10:45

We are so, so honored, doctor Thal, here

00:10:45--> 00:10:47

to have you with us.

00:10:47--> 00:10:49

Are you coming from Philadelphia today?

00:10:51--> 00:10:53

Something like that. Close.

00:10:54--> 00:10:55

Right on the way outside the city. Can

00:10:55--> 00:10:56

you hear me by the way? Is the

00:10:57--> 00:10:58

Yes. Loud and clear, Masha'a. Sound great.

00:11:00--> 00:11:03

Alhamdulillah. Welcome to Ramadan 360. Welcome to this

00:11:03--> 00:11:05

global community. We're so blessed to have your

00:11:05--> 00:11:07

presence here with us, and, we'd love for

00:11:07--> 00:11:09

you to go ahead and introduce your

00:11:09--> 00:11:10

topic

00:11:21--> 00:11:23

It's an honor to be here. It is

00:11:23--> 00:11:25

also an honor that

00:11:26--> 00:11:27

Allah is what y'all has blessed us with

00:11:27--> 00:11:30

a with another day of Ramadan. And I

00:11:30--> 00:11:31

think that the topic that I was asked

00:11:31--> 00:11:32

to speak about

00:11:33--> 00:11:33

is

00:11:34--> 00:11:35

extremely appropriate for,

00:11:37--> 00:11:40

this, this these last few hours that we

00:11:40--> 00:11:41

have of Ramadan

00:11:41--> 00:11:42

and finishing

00:11:43--> 00:11:44

strong. The topic that I was asked to

00:11:44--> 00:11:46

speak about is,

00:11:46--> 00:11:47

ambition

00:11:47--> 00:11:49

or high aspirations

00:11:49--> 00:11:51

as a Quranic theme.

00:11:52--> 00:11:55

And we see this theme play out through

00:11:55--> 00:11:55

the instruction

00:11:56--> 00:11:58

of Eliza Wajal to his messengers,

00:11:59--> 00:12:01

and we see this theme play out very

00:12:01--> 00:12:02

clearly in the life of the prophet

00:12:03--> 00:12:03

and

00:12:04--> 00:12:05

his companions.

00:12:06--> 00:12:06

And

00:12:07--> 00:12:08

I I want us all to appreciate

00:12:10--> 00:12:10

that,

00:12:11--> 00:12:12

not every

00:12:13--> 00:12:14

characteristic

00:12:14--> 00:12:17

or every character trait can be considered to

00:12:17--> 00:12:18

be

00:12:19--> 00:12:20

a theme of the Quran.

00:12:21--> 00:12:24

However, this one of ambition or ambition can

00:12:24--> 00:12:25

have a negative context,

00:12:26--> 00:12:27

so we'll we'll use high aspirations.

00:12:29--> 00:12:29

This

00:12:30--> 00:12:32

theme of high aspirations

00:12:32--> 00:12:34

runs through and through the Quran

00:12:34--> 00:12:37

and throughout the life of the prophet, alayhis

00:12:37--> 00:12:38

salatu wasalam. In fact,

00:12:39--> 00:12:40

some of the timeless advice

00:12:41--> 00:12:43

of the prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, is

00:12:53--> 00:12:54

You'll you'll hear a lot of people say

00:12:54--> 00:12:56

this hadith. They say,

00:12:56--> 00:12:59

but that is an incorrect pronunciation according to

00:12:59--> 00:13:02

many of the scholars of hadith. So the

00:13:02--> 00:13:02

prophet

00:13:03--> 00:13:03

says

00:13:04--> 00:13:06

to strive to have hearse,

00:13:07--> 00:13:09

strive to be ambitious.

00:13:13--> 00:13:13

To do

00:13:14--> 00:13:15

that which will

00:13:15--> 00:13:17

benefit you, to,

00:13:18--> 00:13:20

embody those things that benefit.

00:13:21--> 00:13:23

Anything that is going to benefit you,

00:13:24--> 00:13:26

strive to achieve that.

00:13:29--> 00:13:31

And seek Allah's aid,

00:13:33--> 00:13:35

and do not give up. That's.

00:13:35--> 00:13:37

Don't don't feel

00:13:37--> 00:13:40

like you're not good enough. Don't don't wane.

00:13:40--> 00:13:41

Keep trying.

00:13:41--> 00:13:42

Now,

00:13:43--> 00:13:45

this is a an extremely

00:13:45--> 00:13:48

important hadith, and it comes after

00:13:48--> 00:13:50

the statement of the prophet

00:13:51--> 00:13:52

in that same hadith

00:14:00--> 00:14:03

That the strong believer

00:14:05--> 00:14:05

is better

00:14:06--> 00:14:09

and more beloved to Allah than the weak

00:14:09--> 00:14:09

believer,

00:14:11--> 00:14:13

and in each of them is good.

00:14:13--> 00:14:14

Now

00:14:14--> 00:14:15

the

00:14:15--> 00:14:15

prophet

00:14:17--> 00:14:19

is letting us know here that even a

00:14:19--> 00:14:19

person

00:14:21--> 00:14:22

of weak iman

00:14:23--> 00:14:25

still has good in them.

00:14:25--> 00:14:26

And

00:14:26--> 00:14:29

it is a common thing for us to

00:14:29--> 00:14:31

especially when we're feeling weak,

00:14:31--> 00:14:32

to equate,

00:14:33--> 00:14:35

right, weak iman with no iman. And that's

00:14:35--> 00:14:36

a trick.

00:14:36--> 00:14:38

That is how Shaytan,

00:14:39--> 00:14:41

and he took over when when you despair

00:14:41--> 00:14:44

from Allah's mercy, right, when you feel like

00:14:44--> 00:14:47

you're just not good enough, this actually pushes

00:14:47--> 00:14:48

you to do more evil. It's like the

00:14:48--> 00:14:51

man who killed 99 people. And

00:14:52--> 00:14:54

he went to that monk or that abbot,

00:14:55--> 00:14:57

and he said to to him,

00:14:57--> 00:14:59

I killed 99 people. Is there any way

00:14:59--> 00:15:01

for me to repent? Now mind you mind

00:15:01--> 00:15:03

you, so Panalog, you have to think about

00:15:03--> 00:15:06

this from a different perspective. If somebody's coming

00:15:06--> 00:15:08

to ask you that, they're looking for something.

00:15:09--> 00:15:10

Right? And

00:15:11--> 00:15:13

in in in various positions that we're in

00:15:13--> 00:15:15

in life, even just as parents. Sometimes your

00:15:15--> 00:15:16

children know that they messed up and they're

00:15:16--> 00:15:18

coming to you. They're trying to figure out

00:15:18--> 00:15:20

a way out. But if if we compound

00:15:21--> 00:15:22

the despair

00:15:22--> 00:15:23

that they have,

00:15:23--> 00:15:25

where does that lead them? And so

00:15:25--> 00:15:27

when the monk told him,

00:15:27--> 00:15:31

nah. There's no you killed 99 people, and

00:15:31--> 00:15:32

you wanna be forgiven now? Like, you wanna

00:15:32--> 00:15:34

make Toba now? Nah. It's too late.

00:15:35--> 00:15:36

The man said, okay.

00:15:37--> 00:15:38

Then you'll be number 100, and that's what

00:15:38--> 00:15:39

happened.

00:15:39--> 00:15:41

Because he ran out of he ran out

00:15:41--> 00:15:42

of hope. Okay. If I if I'm not

00:15:42--> 00:15:44

gonna be if there's no hope for me,

00:15:44--> 00:15:46

then why? Why am I actually, like, what

00:15:46--> 00:15:47

am I doing something good for? And I

00:15:47--> 00:15:49

just, you know, finish the job. So he

00:15:49--> 00:15:51

made him number 100.

00:15:51--> 00:15:53

And and it's important that the problems, like,

00:15:53--> 00:15:54

someone says here,

00:15:59--> 00:16:01

but there's good in both of them.

00:16:02--> 00:16:03

And then the prophet

00:16:04--> 00:16:07

teaches us how to be good, strong.

00:16:09--> 00:16:10

The first thing is,

00:16:10--> 00:16:11

strive.

00:16:13--> 00:16:15

Strive. Strive to do what is going to

00:16:15--> 00:16:18

benefit you. Strive for those things that benefit

00:16:18--> 00:16:20

you. Stay away from

00:16:20--> 00:16:22

those things that are going to harm you.

00:16:23--> 00:16:25

So, in this hadith,

00:16:25--> 00:16:28

we see that the prophet is encouraging us

00:16:29--> 00:16:29

to strive.

00:16:30--> 00:16:32

The only people who strive are those people

00:16:32--> 00:16:34

who actually have something that they're striving for.

00:16:34--> 00:16:35

They have some kind of ambition.

00:16:36--> 00:16:38

So I want us to just,

00:16:39--> 00:16:40

I'll I'll take this back to the Quran,

00:16:41--> 00:16:43

and then I'll go back to the seerah

00:16:43--> 00:16:45

of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam

00:16:45--> 00:16:48

so that we can, look at what does

00:16:48--> 00:16:50

this quality actually mean?

00:16:51--> 00:16:53

How did it manifest itself in the life

00:16:53--> 00:16:54

of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam and

00:16:54--> 00:16:55

some of his companions?

00:16:58--> 00:16:59

Allah told the prophet

00:17:00--> 00:17:01

in the Quran,

00:17:11--> 00:17:12

Endure

00:17:13--> 00:17:14

the way that

00:17:16--> 00:17:18

from amongst the messengers

00:17:18--> 00:17:19

endured.

00:17:21--> 00:17:21

Who are?

00:17:23--> 00:17:24

Eliza Wajal,

00:17:26--> 00:17:27

has sent

00:17:27--> 00:17:28

to Earth

00:17:30--> 00:17:30

a 124,000

00:17:32--> 00:17:35

prophets as it comes in some of the

00:17:36--> 00:17:37

narrations from the prophet,

00:17:40--> 00:17:42

the overwhelming majority of them, we don't know

00:17:42--> 00:17:43

their names.

00:17:45--> 00:17:46

Now Allah

00:17:48--> 00:17:48

has mentioned

00:17:49--> 00:17:51

Ulul Azam from amongst the messengers.

00:17:52--> 00:17:53

These 5

00:17:54--> 00:17:55

messengers

00:17:56--> 00:17:59

who are considered to be the greatest of

00:17:59--> 00:18:00

all of the messengers,

00:18:01--> 00:18:02

They are those of

00:18:03--> 00:18:05

firm determination if we're going to translate,

00:18:07--> 00:18:09

if we're going to translate it, literally.

00:18:11--> 00:18:12

So Allah

00:18:12--> 00:18:13

is

00:18:13--> 00:18:14

even telling the prophet

00:18:16--> 00:18:18

that you have to have role models.

00:18:18--> 00:18:19

Not

00:18:20--> 00:18:21

just Fassbir.

00:18:26--> 00:18:27

Look to their example.

00:18:28--> 00:18:30

There are these great prophets who preceded you.

00:18:30--> 00:18:31

Nur

00:18:31--> 00:18:32

and Ibrahim

00:18:33--> 00:18:35

and Musa and Isa, alayhim,

00:18:37--> 00:18:38

you need to endure

00:18:38--> 00:18:40

the way that they endured.

00:18:40--> 00:18:41

So

00:18:42--> 00:18:43

one of

00:18:44--> 00:18:46

the first things that you need to have

00:18:46--> 00:18:47

high ambition,

00:18:48--> 00:18:50

to have high

00:18:50--> 00:18:51

aspirations,

00:18:52--> 00:18:53

you have to have a role model.

00:18:55--> 00:18:58

I'm I'm saying to you all, to this,

00:18:58--> 00:18:58

mugger,

00:19:01--> 00:19:01

gathering.

00:19:03--> 00:19:05

You have to actually have somebody,

00:19:07--> 00:19:09

that you look to,

00:19:10--> 00:19:12

that you know their life inside out, and

00:19:12--> 00:19:14

that could be the prophet,

00:19:16--> 00:19:17

but it might be somebody else. It might

00:19:17--> 00:19:19

be Abu Bakr. It might be Omar. It

00:19:19--> 00:19:20

might be Mariam,

00:19:20--> 00:19:21

Aaniyah Sanam.

00:19:22--> 00:19:24

Somebody that resonates

00:19:24--> 00:19:25

their personality,

00:19:26--> 00:19:28

their struggles, their their lifestyle,

00:19:29--> 00:19:29

their

00:19:30--> 00:19:32

it resonates with you, and you're going to

00:19:32--> 00:19:33

copy them

00:19:34--> 00:19:35

until you make

00:19:37--> 00:19:40

it to. Elijah O'Jel is instructing us with

00:19:40--> 00:19:40

this

00:19:42--> 00:19:43

in every single

00:19:44--> 00:19:45

raka of every salah.

00:19:46--> 00:19:47

Allah

00:19:47--> 00:19:50

made it mandatory upon us to recite

00:19:51--> 00:19:52

Surat al Fatiha,

00:19:53--> 00:19:54

and we say in Surat al Fatiha,

00:19:57--> 00:19:58

Guide us to the straight path.

00:19:59--> 00:20:01

That is in terms of just a

00:20:02--> 00:20:05

a valid dua and a very good dua,

00:20:05--> 00:20:06

that's enough.

00:20:07--> 00:20:08

Alarm Mahdini.

00:20:08--> 00:20:10

Right? Like we like we say in,

00:20:10--> 00:20:12

and it's interesting, and I'll make this connection

00:20:12--> 00:20:13

in a minute. Inshallah.

00:20:14--> 00:20:15

So

00:20:15--> 00:20:16

when we say,

00:20:18--> 00:20:21

guide us to the straight path,

00:20:22--> 00:20:23

We don't stop there.

00:20:28--> 00:20:31

The path of those whom you have favored,

00:20:31--> 00:20:32

whom you have blessed.

00:20:32--> 00:20:33

Who are they?

00:20:34--> 00:20:36

Allah describes them in

00:20:39--> 00:20:40

when he says,

00:20:50--> 00:20:51

They are the ones whom Allah has favored

00:20:51--> 00:20:52

from mostly MBA,

00:20:53--> 00:20:54

the prophets,

00:20:54--> 00:20:55

the martyrs,

00:20:55--> 00:20:56

the siddiqeen,

00:20:58--> 00:20:58

the,

00:20:59--> 00:21:02

the the the the sincere and truthful believers,

00:21:03--> 00:21:03

and the salihim,

00:21:04--> 00:21:05

the the righteous.

00:21:06--> 00:21:07

It is not

00:21:08--> 00:21:08

enough

00:21:10--> 00:21:11

that we

00:21:11--> 00:21:12

just

00:21:13--> 00:21:14

ask for guidance

00:21:15--> 00:21:18

without recognizing that there are other people who

00:21:18--> 00:21:20

traveled that path and that we try to

00:21:20--> 00:21:22

emulate them. And so even when we make

00:21:22--> 00:21:23

the dua of kunut and now all of

00:21:23--> 00:21:25

it, mashaAllah, it's Ramadan. So we're saying Allah

00:21:25--> 00:21:26

Mahdina.

00:21:26--> 00:21:27

What?

00:21:27--> 00:21:28

Femenhadate.

00:21:31--> 00:21:33

Femenhadate. Like the other ones that you have

00:21:33--> 00:21:34

guided,

00:21:34--> 00:21:37

meaning that we always are going to have

00:21:37--> 00:21:39

people who traveled the path before us,

00:21:40--> 00:21:41

males and females,

00:21:42--> 00:21:44

who we're going to I mean, Yani, subhanallah,

00:21:44--> 00:21:46

it's not a mistake that Allah

00:21:46--> 00:21:48

when describing Maryam

00:21:48--> 00:21:50

alayhis salaam in the Quran.

00:21:53--> 00:21:55

He described her as a siddiqah.

00:21:56--> 00:21:58

She's somebody that we're supposed to be emulating.

00:21:59--> 00:22:00

She's somebody when we're saying,

00:22:04--> 00:22:06

She's one of those that Allah and

00:22:08--> 00:22:10

who we should be trying to emulate. Yani,

00:22:10--> 00:22:11

the point here

00:22:11--> 00:22:13

is that when we aspire,

00:22:14--> 00:22:15

we need to look up,

00:22:16--> 00:22:17

not

00:22:17--> 00:22:20

like the things of the dunya. The prophet

00:22:22--> 00:22:25

said, look to those who are below you.

00:22:26--> 00:22:28

Don't look to those who are above you

00:22:28--> 00:22:30

because it is more likely,

00:22:30--> 00:22:33

Afwan, the the actual the hadith says, don't

00:22:33--> 00:22:35

look to those who are above you. Look

00:22:35--> 00:22:37

to those who are below you. It will

00:22:37--> 00:22:39

be more likely that you are thankful,

00:22:40--> 00:22:42

grateful for Allah's blessings upon you. That's as

00:22:42--> 00:22:44

it relates to doing your things.

00:22:44--> 00:22:46

As it relates to the hereafter,

00:22:47--> 00:22:48

you're supposed to look up

00:22:49--> 00:22:50

so that you can try to emulate

00:22:51--> 00:22:52

those people. Because

00:22:54--> 00:22:56

emulating them will take you on a upward

00:22:56--> 00:22:57

trajectory,

00:22:59--> 00:23:01

and will help you on your path to

00:23:01--> 00:23:02

Jannah.

00:23:03--> 00:23:04

If you look below,

00:23:04--> 00:23:06

you're going to become content

00:23:07--> 00:23:08

with where you are religiously.

00:23:09--> 00:23:11

Masha'Allah, you pray 5 times a day. You're

00:23:11--> 00:23:12

gonna be looking around. You live in a

00:23:12--> 00:23:14

land of non Muslims. You're gonna say, what?

00:23:14--> 00:23:16

These Kufar, they don't even pray.

00:23:17--> 00:23:19

If, if I'm not going to Jannah, who

00:23:19--> 00:23:20

is going to Jannah?

00:23:21--> 00:23:23

That's not the attitude we wanna take. We

00:23:23--> 00:23:23

wanna take.

00:23:27--> 00:23:28

In that,

00:23:29--> 00:23:31

right, when it comes to striving for gender,

00:23:31--> 00:23:34

let the believers let those who wanna compete

00:23:34--> 00:23:35

compete for that.

00:23:36--> 00:23:37

Comes to the dunya stuff, we don't have

00:23:37--> 00:23:39

to keep up with the Joneses. I don't

00:23:39--> 00:23:41

my my neighbor gets a a brand new

00:23:41--> 00:23:42

car. I don't have to come get a

00:23:42--> 00:23:44

brand new car. My neighbor does a nice

00:23:44--> 00:23:46

renovation project on his house. I don't have

00:23:46--> 00:23:47

to come do a nice run. I'm not

00:23:47--> 00:23:49

competing with my neighbors

00:23:49--> 00:23:52

when it comes to dunya. No. I actually

00:23:52--> 00:23:53

need to look at those who have less

00:23:53--> 00:23:55

than me, because that's the only way I'm

00:23:55--> 00:23:57

gonna be thankful to Eliza Wajan.

00:23:58--> 00:23:59

And if my car is not up to

00:23:59--> 00:24:01

snuff, it's not the greatest, ride. It doesn't

00:24:01--> 00:24:03

look the greatest. But, masha'Allah, it gets me

00:24:03--> 00:24:04

from point a to point b.

00:24:05--> 00:24:07

And all I can do is see all

00:24:07--> 00:24:08

of the people whose cars are better than

00:24:08--> 00:24:10

mine. I'm not gonna be grateful to Elijah.

00:24:10--> 00:24:12

But if you look at that person that's

00:24:12--> 00:24:13

waiting at the bus stop in the rain,

00:24:14--> 00:24:15

yeah.

00:24:15--> 00:24:17

Then I'm a little bit more thankful. And

00:24:17--> 00:24:18

so

00:24:19--> 00:24:22

people often confuse that, and they look to

00:24:22--> 00:24:23

those who are below them even when it

00:24:23--> 00:24:26

comes to a, let's just say, their practice

00:24:26--> 00:24:28

of being their religiosity, if I can use

00:24:28--> 00:24:29

that term loosely.

00:24:30--> 00:24:33

And that is what causes lower aspirations because

00:24:33--> 00:24:35

we're not we're not

00:24:35--> 00:24:37

seeing how do I get to that level.

00:24:39--> 00:24:40

SubhanAllah.

00:24:41--> 00:24:43

Since this is a, an intimate gathering,

00:24:44--> 00:24:45

at least that's the way I look at

00:24:45--> 00:24:47

it. And sometimes on on Zoom, it's hard

00:24:47--> 00:24:48

to tell. But

00:24:49--> 00:24:50

I I wanna share a story with you

00:24:50--> 00:24:52

all so that we can understand

00:24:53--> 00:24:55

the importance of

00:24:55--> 00:24:56

sharing

00:24:56--> 00:24:57

opportunities

00:24:57--> 00:24:59

with others to be better.

00:24:59--> 00:25:00

Right?

00:25:01--> 00:25:03

One one of, one of my sheikhs, Sheikh

00:25:03--> 00:25:05

Abdullah Hodeyen, Raheemullah Taida, who used to be

00:25:05--> 00:25:07

on the permanent committee of, senior

00:25:08--> 00:25:10

scholars in in Saudi Arabia.

00:25:11--> 00:25:12

He was the first person

00:25:12--> 00:25:13

that I

00:25:14--> 00:25:14

heard

00:25:15--> 00:25:15

mention

00:25:18--> 00:25:19

that

00:25:19--> 00:25:20

people,

00:25:21--> 00:25:21

right,

00:25:22--> 00:25:24

would read the Quran, the entire Quran, from

00:25:24--> 00:25:27

Suratul Fajan, Suratul Nas in one day.

00:25:28--> 00:25:30

Like, that was still alive now. So I

00:25:30--> 00:25:32

I've read the books. Right? You know, you

00:25:32--> 00:25:35

hear Imam Shafi. He's reading the Quran,

00:25:35--> 00:25:37

you know, twice a day in Ramadan. And

00:25:37--> 00:25:39

it's just like, come on. You know, from

00:25:39--> 00:25:41

from our perspective in the beginning,

00:25:41--> 00:25:43

like, this stuff is a legend. Right? This

00:25:43--> 00:25:44

can't be true.

00:25:45--> 00:25:45

Okay.

00:25:47--> 00:25:49

But then you read it so much in

00:25:49--> 00:25:51

the stories of the Salaf and their biographies.

00:25:51--> 00:25:53

You're saying, no. There's gotta be some element

00:25:53--> 00:25:54

of truth to this, but, you know, you

00:25:54--> 00:25:57

just never have experienced that yourself. You know?

00:25:57--> 00:25:57

God

00:25:58--> 00:25:59

one one of us, you know, if we

00:25:59--> 00:26:00

do 3 Jews in a day, we're like,

00:26:00--> 00:26:01

yeah,

00:26:02--> 00:26:03

You know, we we've accomplished a a great

00:26:03--> 00:26:05

accomplishment. And it is it is a good

00:26:05--> 00:26:06

great accomplishment.

00:26:08--> 00:26:09

So, anyway,

00:26:09--> 00:26:11

Sheikh Abdullah with Degan,

00:26:12--> 00:26:13

he said that

00:26:14--> 00:26:16

when, you know, a yamatulub,

00:26:16--> 00:26:18

yani, when we were seeking knowledge,

00:26:19--> 00:26:21

we used to go to the masjid. Like,

00:26:21--> 00:26:22

there would be a group of the Shaba'at.

00:26:22--> 00:26:24

They would go to the masjid on Jum'at

00:26:25--> 00:26:27

at the first hour. That's the way he

00:26:27--> 00:26:28

described it.

00:26:28--> 00:26:30

We'll go at the first hour, which was

00:26:30--> 00:26:32

the which was the prophet encouraged us to

00:26:32--> 00:26:33

do.

00:26:34--> 00:26:36

And we would start the Quran. We would

00:26:36--> 00:26:37

start reading then.

00:26:39--> 00:26:41

It's the first hour, Jumay,

00:26:41--> 00:26:43

meaning after Fajr.

00:26:44--> 00:26:45

He said,

00:26:46--> 00:26:47

when the imam

00:26:48--> 00:26:49

would get on the mimbar, we would have

00:26:49--> 00:26:51

finished the the reading of Uqrai.

00:26:52--> 00:26:53

Thirty Jews.

00:26:54--> 00:26:56

Not not I read 5, he reads 5,

00:26:56--> 00:26:58

he no. Each one of us,

00:26:59--> 00:27:00

we have finished reading the Quran.

00:27:01--> 00:27:02

I asked the shaker,

00:27:02--> 00:27:03

how in the world

00:27:04--> 00:27:05

but, like, what

00:27:06--> 00:27:07

how do you do that? Like, how does

00:27:07--> 00:27:10

one actually read 30 Jews

00:27:10--> 00:27:12

in that period of time?

00:27:13--> 00:27:14

He said, once you get used to it,

00:27:14--> 00:27:15

you read the Jews in 12 minutes.

00:27:17--> 00:27:18

Once you get used to it, you read

00:27:18--> 00:27:20

the Jews in 12 minute.

00:27:20--> 00:27:21

Start thinking about it.

00:27:23--> 00:27:24

I said, wow.

00:27:25--> 00:27:27

I couldn't imagine that at that particular time.

00:27:27--> 00:27:28

This was

00:27:30--> 00:27:31

18 years ago,

00:27:33--> 00:27:33

maybe.

00:27:33--> 00:27:36

Something like that. I could not imagine at

00:27:36--> 00:27:38

that time any human being reading a Jews

00:27:38--> 00:27:39

in 12 minutes.

00:27:41--> 00:27:43

SubhanAllah. I hope your aspirations are climbing right

00:27:43--> 00:27:45

now, by the way. We're talking about aspirations

00:27:45--> 00:27:47

and the Quran itself.

00:27:48--> 00:27:50

And Ramadan. And what should we be like

00:27:50--> 00:27:52

after Ramadan? So I'm gonna talk about this

00:27:52--> 00:27:52

in a second,

00:27:53--> 00:27:54

But, subhanallah,

00:27:54--> 00:27:56

for me, this was

00:27:57--> 00:27:58

an absolute eye opener,

00:27:59--> 00:28:01

because I said, wait a minute. This is

00:28:01--> 00:28:03

actually a human being in front of me

00:28:03--> 00:28:05

that I can touch and talk to

00:28:06--> 00:28:07

that is doing

00:28:07--> 00:28:09

things that I only thought existed in the

00:28:09--> 00:28:10

books of the salah.

00:28:12--> 00:28:13

And I had to take a step back,

00:28:13--> 00:28:15

and I said, wait a minute.

00:28:15--> 00:28:17

I became a Muslim in 1993.

00:28:18--> 00:28:20

Fatihah to me was no different than Chinese,

00:28:20--> 00:28:22

Japanese, whatever language.

00:28:23--> 00:28:25

I heard somebody recite Fatih, I was blown

00:28:25--> 00:28:28

away. Right? I was just like, wow.

00:28:29--> 00:28:29

This

00:28:30--> 00:28:33

African American guy from the hood is speaking

00:28:33--> 00:28:35

Arabic. That's the way I interpreted it. Right?

00:28:35--> 00:28:36

SubhanAllah.

00:28:37--> 00:28:39

Okay. After a while, everybody learns.

00:28:39--> 00:28:41

You right now, you can say.

00:28:47--> 00:28:49

It hit me. I said, subhanallah,

00:28:50--> 00:28:52

for them, the Quran is like Fatiha.

00:28:53--> 00:28:54

The whole Quran.

00:28:54--> 00:28:56

Because that's how much time

00:28:56--> 00:28:58

they spend with the book of Allah azza

00:28:58--> 00:28:58

wa jal.

00:28:59--> 00:29:00

Now mind you, it is not the sunnah

00:29:00--> 00:29:02

of the prophet, alaihis salatu sallam,

00:29:03--> 00:29:04

to read the Quran

00:29:06--> 00:29:07

every day.

00:29:08--> 00:29:10

Ramadan is an exception, and that is shown

00:29:10--> 00:29:13

clearly from the actions of the salah, but

00:29:13--> 00:29:14

that's not the norm.

00:29:15--> 00:29:15

And

00:29:16--> 00:29:17

the norm of the,

00:29:18--> 00:29:19

Sahaba

00:29:20--> 00:29:21

the norm of the Sahaba

00:29:21--> 00:29:24

was or let's just say a common practice

00:29:24--> 00:29:25

amongst the Sahaba

00:29:26--> 00:29:27

was that they would read the Quran

00:29:28--> 00:29:31

in its entirety every 7 days. It's called

00:29:31--> 00:29:32

at tasbir,

00:29:33--> 00:29:34

from seba,

00:29:34--> 00:29:35

for 7,

00:29:36--> 00:29:38

and they had a particular methodology for doing

00:29:38--> 00:29:38

that.

00:29:41--> 00:29:41

35911.

00:29:42--> 00:29:44

You anyway, we can that's a different discussion

00:29:44--> 00:29:45

for a different day.

00:29:46--> 00:29:47

The point is

00:29:47--> 00:29:50

once you know that something is possible,

00:29:51--> 00:29:53

you'll be more likely to strive for it.

00:29:53--> 00:29:54

If you don't know,

00:29:54--> 00:29:56

then you won't strive for it.

00:29:56--> 00:29:57

And so the story I was gonna tell

00:29:57--> 00:29:59

you, and then I said maybe I'm not,

00:29:59--> 00:30:00

now I will tell you. So I had

00:30:00--> 00:30:03

a friend, who's colleague of mine in Medina.

00:30:04--> 00:30:05

And,

00:30:05--> 00:30:06

you know, one of the things that that

00:30:06--> 00:30:07

we like to do was,

00:30:08--> 00:30:10

especially for the e, we like to get

00:30:10--> 00:30:12

our thobe made, and and getting a thobe

00:30:12--> 00:30:14

made is actually almost the same price as

00:30:14--> 00:30:17

buying it out the box over there. Right?

00:30:17--> 00:30:18

So we used to get our thobe made.

00:30:19--> 00:30:20

And this brother was a was a box

00:30:20--> 00:30:22

stove guy. He likes he likes to buy

00:30:22--> 00:30:23

his,

00:30:23--> 00:30:25

his, tholves from the box. So I dash

00:30:25--> 00:30:27

and I just go to the tailor. We

00:30:27--> 00:30:29

can measure it up and get the tholbe

00:30:29--> 00:30:31

made. British brother.

00:30:32--> 00:30:32

And so,

00:30:34--> 00:30:35

we go to pick up the film, you

00:30:35--> 00:30:36

know, a few days later,

00:30:37--> 00:30:39

and he tries it on a story. Tries

00:30:39--> 00:30:42

a stove on, it fits so nice. And

00:30:42--> 00:30:43

he looked in the mirror, and he's looking

00:30:43--> 00:30:45

at the buttons and everything. And he says,

00:30:45--> 00:30:47

I didn't know looking this good was an

00:30:47--> 00:30:47

option.

00:30:48--> 00:30:50

And I said, nah. It's an option, bro.

00:30:52--> 00:30:53

And I'm I'm only saying that from a

00:30:53--> 00:30:56

junior perspective to see that when we know

00:30:56--> 00:30:58

that something is an option, we might actually

00:30:58--> 00:31:00

strive for it. And if we don't believe

00:31:00--> 00:31:02

that it's in reach,

00:31:02--> 00:31:05

right, then we're not gonna strive for it.

00:31:06--> 00:31:07

And I I think that that's one of

00:31:07--> 00:31:08

the things that

00:31:10--> 00:31:12

leads to dunu al himma, which is the

00:31:12--> 00:31:13

opposite of.

00:31:14--> 00:31:16

So this leads to low aspirations because you

00:31:16--> 00:31:19

don't really believe it's possible, so you don't

00:31:19--> 00:31:20

strive for it.

00:31:20--> 00:31:21

For example,

00:31:21--> 00:31:23

I was to ask you right now.

00:31:25--> 00:31:27

Do you think that you can become from?

00:31:27--> 00:31:29

Do you think you can become a of

00:31:29--> 00:31:30

Elijah?

00:31:31--> 00:31:33

I ain't a lot of us like me.

00:31:33--> 00:31:36

Knowing where I stand sinfully, the things that

00:31:36--> 00:31:37

I do, the things that I don't do

00:31:37--> 00:31:38

that I should do, whatever.

00:31:39--> 00:31:40

Yeah. But if you put it in your

00:31:40--> 00:31:42

mind, like, no. I wanna die as a

00:31:42--> 00:31:44

wenmi of Elijah Woodson.

00:31:45--> 00:31:47

That's a different level. It's a different level

00:31:47--> 00:31:48

of striving.

00:31:49--> 00:31:50

Elijah Woodson

00:31:50--> 00:31:52

does not want us to settle

00:31:52--> 00:31:53

for mediocrity

00:31:54--> 00:31:55

when it comes to the dean.

00:31:56--> 00:31:57

As for dunya,

00:31:57--> 00:31:58

that's not a big deal.

00:31:59--> 00:32:00

Elijah

00:32:00--> 00:32:02

O'Donnell says, many of us, and I I'm

00:32:02--> 00:32:03

just keeping it real.

00:32:04--> 00:32:06

Where we are today, we are so obsessed

00:32:07--> 00:32:07

with the external.

00:32:08--> 00:32:09

So obsessed

00:32:09--> 00:32:11

with how we look,

00:32:11--> 00:32:13

so obsessed to the point that, you know,

00:32:13--> 00:32:16

you've got bodybuilders that focus on this little

00:32:16--> 00:32:18

muscle next to your tricep. This is how

00:32:18--> 00:32:19

you wanna do it like this. You wanna

00:32:19--> 00:32:20

do these kind of pull ups. Pull your

00:32:20--> 00:32:22

hands in this way. Put them out that

00:32:22--> 00:32:24

way. Turn them around this so that, you

00:32:24--> 00:32:25

know, when you move your finger this way,

00:32:26--> 00:32:27

your forearm, I shot a lot of muscle

00:32:27--> 00:32:29

is gonna pop out or whatever. Like, we

00:32:29--> 00:32:31

get so obsessed with this stuff.

00:32:32--> 00:32:34

You know, people sit in the mirror for

00:32:34--> 00:32:36

hour putting on, you know, foundation on top

00:32:36--> 00:32:38

of this, makeup over here that way, put

00:32:38--> 00:32:39

the butt okay.

00:32:41--> 00:32:41

Allah

00:32:42--> 00:32:43

the prophet said in

00:32:50--> 00:32:52

the law. Law does not look at your

00:32:52--> 00:32:53

external appearances.

00:32:54--> 00:32:55

He doesn't look at your bodies.

00:32:56--> 00:32:58

That is not going to be judged by

00:32:58--> 00:32:59

law.

00:33:01--> 00:33:02

You were too skinny. You were a little

00:33:02--> 00:33:05

chubby. No. You were all the way chubby.

00:33:05--> 00:33:06

You were the no.

00:33:12--> 00:33:13

But he looks at your hearts,

00:33:14--> 00:33:15

and he looks at your deeds.

00:33:16--> 00:33:17

The same

00:33:18--> 00:33:22

aspirations that we have for our external beauty,

00:33:22--> 00:33:24

for our bodies, for

00:33:25--> 00:33:28

are we putting that same energy into our

00:33:28--> 00:33:29

hearts?

00:33:30--> 00:33:32

Are we putting that same energy into our

00:33:32--> 00:33:32

deen?

00:33:34--> 00:33:34

Strive

00:33:35--> 00:33:36

high.

00:33:36--> 00:33:38

Shoot for the stars.

00:33:39--> 00:33:42

This was from the sealer of our prophet,

00:33:42--> 00:33:44

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, embodying the teachings of

00:33:44--> 00:33:47

the Quran. As we know, Aisha radiallahu ta'ala

00:33:47--> 00:33:47

Aina,

00:33:49--> 00:33:50

she said,

00:33:51--> 00:33:53

when asked about the character of the prophet

00:33:57--> 00:33:58

his his character

00:33:59--> 00:34:00

was the Quran.

00:34:02--> 00:34:02

So

00:34:03--> 00:34:04

I want us to look at this hadith

00:34:04--> 00:34:06

of the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.

00:34:07--> 00:34:09

Many of you know this hadith, the prophet

00:34:09--> 00:34:12

salallahu alaihi wasallam say, this aal to mullah.

00:34:16--> 00:34:17

If you ask Allah,

00:34:18--> 00:34:19

ask him for.

00:34:22--> 00:34:22

Right?

00:34:24--> 00:34:25

The highest level of gender

00:34:26--> 00:34:26

Right?

00:34:28--> 00:34:29

This is this is high aspirations, by the

00:34:29--> 00:34:31

way. Like, you don't get higher than Fidos.

00:34:32--> 00:34:32

Alright?

00:34:33--> 00:34:35

So I want us to really

00:34:36--> 00:34:39

I want I want us to take this

00:34:39--> 00:34:40

hadith to heart

00:34:40--> 00:34:42

and really try to understand it.

00:34:43--> 00:34:45

What most people don't know is the context

00:34:45--> 00:34:46

of this hadith.

00:34:48--> 00:34:50

The prophet said,

00:34:54--> 00:34:55

Listen to this.

00:34:55--> 00:34:58

Whoever believes in Allah on the last day

00:34:58--> 00:35:01

will come in salah and establishes the salah.

00:35:02--> 00:35:03

Was some of Ramadan

00:35:04--> 00:35:07

and fast the month of Ramadan.

00:35:14--> 00:35:16

Allah has made it a duty upon himself

00:35:18--> 00:35:21

to enter this person into gender. Hold on.

00:35:21--> 00:35:23

What did he do? Believes in Allah,

00:35:24--> 00:35:25

the last day,

00:35:26--> 00:35:27

establishes the salat.

00:35:28--> 00:35:31

Play it. Establish the salat. A common salat

00:35:31--> 00:35:31

is different than.

00:35:32--> 00:35:35

Establishes the salah means he prays on time,

00:35:35--> 00:35:36

all the time.

00:35:37--> 00:35:39

Side note, and then we get back to

00:35:39--> 00:35:41

this this issue, but I I think this

00:35:41--> 00:35:42

is super important.

00:35:43--> 00:35:45

A lot of people, they come to you,

00:35:46--> 00:35:48

they they respect you for your religiosity, who

00:35:48--> 00:35:50

you are, these type of things, And they

00:35:50--> 00:35:51

come and they say, you know, I have

00:35:51--> 00:35:53

this problem and that problem is fine. You

00:35:53--> 00:35:54

know, one of my first questions to them

00:35:54--> 00:35:55

is how's your salah?

00:35:56--> 00:35:57

How's your salah?

00:35:58--> 00:35:59

Oh, yeah. No. No. I pray. No. No.

00:35:59--> 00:36:00

No. That's not what I'm asking.

00:36:01--> 00:36:04

Do you pray 5 times a day? See,

00:36:04--> 00:36:05

Subhanallah,

00:36:06--> 00:36:08

some people don't don't get it.

00:36:09--> 00:36:11

There's a reason why Elijah Woodrow made the

00:36:11--> 00:36:12

solo at

00:36:12--> 00:36:14

5. I'm not saying that anybody

00:36:14--> 00:36:17

actually knows the hikma of the number 5,

00:36:17--> 00:36:19

But let's just look at our houses. We

00:36:19--> 00:36:21

have 4 walls around us, and we have

00:36:21--> 00:36:23

a roof. K. So that's 5 things that

00:36:23--> 00:36:24

are protecting you.

00:36:24--> 00:36:26

Imagine a roof wasn't there, but you had

00:36:26--> 00:36:27

the 4 walls.

00:36:27--> 00:36:29

You're saying, I have this house, but I'm

00:36:29--> 00:36:30

still getting wet.

00:36:31--> 00:36:33

Like, bro, do you have a roof?

00:36:33--> 00:36:36

No. You got 4 walls. Okay. That's what's

00:36:36--> 00:36:38

happening when you're doing 4 salat and not

00:36:38--> 00:36:38

5.

00:36:39--> 00:36:41

That's what's happening. And you're coming in and

00:36:41--> 00:36:43

saying, no, but I got all these problems.

00:36:43--> 00:36:44

Can you add that 5th one, please? And

00:36:44--> 00:36:46

then we can, like, talk about maybe some

00:36:46--> 00:36:47

of the other

00:36:48--> 00:36:50

issues that you may be having. Right? But

00:36:50--> 00:36:52

the reality is that none of us would

00:36:52--> 00:36:54

accept the beautiful car. You got this Rolls

00:36:54--> 00:36:55

Royce, $250,000

00:36:56--> 00:36:59

vehicle. It's got 3 wheels instead of 4,

00:36:59--> 00:37:01

but it's a beautiful car.

00:37:01--> 00:37:02

I'll tell you something. This guy have a

00:37:02--> 00:37:03

hard time driving.

00:37:04--> 00:37:05

It needs that 4th one. It was made

00:37:05--> 00:37:07

that way for a reason. You got 4

00:37:07--> 00:37:09

for a reason. There are 5 salats for

00:37:09--> 00:37:12

a reason. It works when there are 5.

00:37:12--> 00:37:14

It's not gonna work as well when there

00:37:14--> 00:37:14

aren't 5.

00:37:16--> 00:37:17

A kamasalat,

00:37:17--> 00:37:20

on time, all the time. Whoever believes in

00:37:20--> 00:37:21

the law on the last day establishes

00:37:23--> 00:37:23

the salah.

00:37:25--> 00:37:26

A common salah.

00:37:26--> 00:37:28

Saw wasalam of Ramadan and fast the month

00:37:28--> 00:37:29

of Ramadan.

00:37:29--> 00:37:32

It Allah has made it a right on

00:37:32--> 00:37:35

himself, over himself to enter that person into

00:37:35--> 00:37:35

Jannah.

00:37:43--> 00:37:45

Whether he goes out for jihad

00:37:46--> 00:37:48

or whether he stays in the land in

00:37:48--> 00:37:49

which he was born.

00:37:51--> 00:37:52

Now

00:37:53--> 00:37:54

some of the Sahaba

00:37:54--> 00:37:56

word this hadith from the prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:37:56--> 00:37:57

wa sallam. They say,

00:38:01--> 00:38:03

should we not give glad tidings to the

00:38:03--> 00:38:04

people?

00:38:04--> 00:38:06

What glad tidings? Some people are like, man,

00:38:07--> 00:38:09

I can still hold agenda. I don't have

00:38:09--> 00:38:10

to go out. I don't have to go

00:38:10--> 00:38:12

out for jihad. Mind you, those people say

00:38:12--> 00:38:14

the Muslims are, you know, the Islam was

00:38:14--> 00:38:16

spread by the sword. The Muslims are bloodthirsty.

00:38:17--> 00:38:18

Believe me, he had enough of the companions

00:38:18--> 00:38:20

around the prophet like some. They weren't exactly

00:38:20--> 00:38:21

enthusiastic

00:38:21--> 00:38:23

about going out for Jihad. Many of them

00:38:23--> 00:38:25

were because they knew the reward, but it's

00:38:25--> 00:38:27

not like the prophet said,

00:38:28--> 00:38:30

I don't wish to meet your enemy. It's

00:38:30--> 00:38:32

not something that we strive for as Muslim,

00:38:32--> 00:38:33

man. We just wanna go out and fight

00:38:33--> 00:38:36

left. That's a last resort when there's no

00:38:36--> 00:38:38

other way to defend Islam and to raise

00:38:38--> 00:38:39

the word of Allah. So

00:38:43--> 00:38:44

the prophet

00:38:46--> 00:38:46

then said,

00:38:47--> 00:38:48

don't

00:38:49--> 00:38:50

don't

00:38:50--> 00:38:51

inform the people.

00:38:54--> 00:38:55

Why? He said,

00:38:56--> 00:38:58

Let the people work.

00:39:01--> 00:39:04

Because Jannah has a 100 different levels.

00:39:08--> 00:39:10

Allah has prepared them

00:39:11--> 00:39:14

for those who strive in jihad for his

00:39:14--> 00:39:15

cause.

00:39:16--> 00:39:18

So when you ask the law for agenda,

00:39:18--> 00:39:19

and this is the prophet Isaiah Psalm said.

00:39:19--> 00:39:20

So when you ask Allah,

00:39:21--> 00:39:23

ask him for alfidos,

00:39:24--> 00:39:25

fa inahu aljannah,

00:39:26--> 00:39:27

because it is the

00:39:28--> 00:39:28

highest

00:39:29--> 00:39:30

point in jannah.

00:39:31--> 00:39:33

The prophet is telling us here, and he's

00:39:33--> 00:39:36

the messenger of Allah. It's not from him.

00:39:36--> 00:39:37

It's from Allah.

00:39:38--> 00:39:39

Don't be settled

00:39:39--> 00:39:40

with Jannah.

00:39:41--> 00:39:43

What does that even how does that even

00:39:43--> 00:39:45

come off your tongue? How how how does

00:39:45--> 00:39:47

how do we even get to the point

00:39:47--> 00:39:50

where we say, don't settle for Jannah. What?

00:39:51--> 00:39:53

The problem is how you're settling by saying

00:39:53--> 00:39:55

no. Go for the highest part in Canada.

00:39:56--> 00:39:57

For those.

00:39:59--> 00:40:00

When you ask

00:40:02--> 00:40:04

what high aspiration that is?

00:40:06--> 00:40:07

You know,

00:40:08--> 00:40:10

I think about the Hadith of Rabi'a of

00:40:10--> 00:40:10

Nukab

00:40:11--> 00:40:12

really a long time, and he was the

00:40:12--> 00:40:14

servant of the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.

00:40:14--> 00:40:16

He was outside of Medina, by the way.

00:40:16--> 00:40:17

And I don't not to get too far

00:40:17--> 00:40:19

into his story because I know my time

00:40:19--> 00:40:19

is up.

00:40:20--> 00:40:22

So I'll wrap up inshallah. But

00:40:25--> 00:40:26

the Rabi'ah,

00:40:27--> 00:40:29

he he used to serve the Prophet like

00:40:30--> 00:40:31

Anas ibn Malik, and

00:40:31--> 00:40:33

who served the Prophet He said,

00:40:34--> 00:40:36

Well, I do if he fell like he

00:40:36--> 00:40:37

hate in the middle. And

00:40:38--> 00:40:40

wherever he was, I was with him. I

00:40:40--> 00:40:41

was in his orbit is the way he

00:40:41--> 00:40:43

said, a do if he fell like he

00:40:43--> 00:40:45

Whatever the process I saw, I was I

00:40:45--> 00:40:47

was in his orbit. I'm looking. Whenever he

00:40:47--> 00:40:49

needs something, before he had to ask, I'm

00:40:49--> 00:40:50

bringing it to him.

00:40:51--> 00:40:52

This was Rabia.

00:40:53--> 00:40:54

And so

00:40:55--> 00:40:56

one day he says,

00:41:00--> 00:41:02

That night, I was with the prophet,

00:41:03--> 00:41:04

and I came to him. Like, he would

00:41:04--> 00:41:06

stay with the prophet. He would stay outside

00:41:06--> 00:41:07

of his house at night. So whenever the

00:41:07--> 00:41:10

prophet will wake up, he's gonna get his

00:41:10--> 00:41:11

water so that he can make will do

00:41:11--> 00:41:12

and so on and so forth. So he

00:41:12--> 00:41:14

bringing the water to the prophet whatever else

00:41:14--> 00:41:15

he needed.

00:41:16--> 00:41:17

He said that night, the prophet

00:41:18--> 00:41:19

says to me, Sal,

00:41:19--> 00:41:21

ask me. He said, look. Basically, the

00:41:23--> 00:41:24

prophet,

00:41:25--> 00:41:26

you know, he

00:41:28--> 00:41:29

was the type of person

00:41:30--> 00:41:32

that would always try to reciprocate a favor.

00:41:32--> 00:41:34

Right? Wasn't just the person that takes. He

00:41:34--> 00:41:35

wants to give,

00:41:37--> 00:41:38

And encouraged us to be that way as

00:41:38--> 00:41:39

well.

00:41:39--> 00:41:41

And and, mind you,

00:41:41--> 00:41:43

even if you don't have something to give,

00:41:43--> 00:41:45

the prophet says make dua for this person

00:41:45--> 00:41:47

until you feel like you've repaid them.

00:41:48--> 00:41:49

And the reason why is because

00:41:50--> 00:41:52

when you feel like you owe somebody something,

00:41:53--> 00:41:54

then that's a piece of your heart that's

00:41:54--> 00:41:57

not being dedicated to Allah's with y'all. It's

00:41:57--> 00:41:58

just that simple.

00:41:58--> 00:42:00

And so we want our hearts to be

00:42:00--> 00:42:02

attached to Allah and Allah alone,

00:42:02--> 00:42:04

so you wanna feel like you paid that

00:42:04--> 00:42:06

person back to the best of your ability.

00:42:06--> 00:42:08

Obviously, you're not gonna be able to repay

00:42:08--> 00:42:10

your parents ever, you know.

00:42:10--> 00:42:12

Anyway, so the prophet

00:42:14--> 00:42:15

wants to reciprocate

00:42:16--> 00:42:18

this favor, so he says ask me. So

00:42:18--> 00:42:18

he's telling

00:42:21--> 00:42:21

So Rabi'a

00:42:24--> 00:42:26

Now mind you, he was poor. He was

00:42:26--> 00:42:28

from outside Medina. He was from Abu Sufah.

00:42:29--> 00:42:30

He's living with

00:42:30--> 00:42:32

the with the poor from most of the

00:42:32--> 00:42:33

Mujahideen

00:42:33--> 00:42:36

and the Al Saud, and whenever the food

00:42:36--> 00:42:37

would come, he would

00:42:38--> 00:42:39

the the whenever food came to the prophet,

00:42:39--> 00:42:40

he would give them some from the food,

00:42:40--> 00:42:42

but they were basically, I mean, homeless.

00:42:43--> 00:42:45

And he's a young man. I mean, you

00:42:45--> 00:42:47

would think that if the prophet was asking

00:42:47--> 00:42:48

him, you know, what do you want?

00:42:49--> 00:42:51

He's gonna have a house, a wife, you

00:42:51--> 00:42:52

know, whatever.

00:42:53--> 00:42:53

He

00:42:56--> 00:42:59

says, I wanna be with you in Jannah.

00:42:59--> 00:43:02

Like, here, I'm your rafiq. I'm serving you.

00:43:02--> 00:43:03

I'm in your company.

00:43:03--> 00:43:05

I wanna be in your company in Jannah.

00:43:05--> 00:43:06

La ilaha illallah.

00:43:07--> 00:43:09

La ilaha illallah. What a high aspiration.

00:43:10--> 00:43:12

His aspiration wasn't the dunya.

00:43:12--> 00:43:14

His aspiration was the hereafter.

00:43:14--> 00:43:16

Brothers and sisters,

00:43:16--> 00:43:18

there's a lot more that can be said

00:43:18--> 00:43:19

about this topic.

00:43:20--> 00:43:20

However,

00:43:21--> 00:43:23

I'm sure that at the half hour mark,

00:43:23--> 00:43:26

many of you have already drifted off. So,

00:43:26--> 00:43:27

we'll

00:43:28--> 00:43:30

reel it back in, and let's just

00:43:31--> 00:43:34

say, as we conclude this month of Ramadan,

00:43:34--> 00:43:36

Elijah Wajal has blessed us,

00:43:37--> 00:43:39

and I believe that this is probably true

00:43:39--> 00:43:41

for each and every one of us with

00:43:41--> 00:43:43

some level of increase in Ibad.

00:43:43--> 00:43:44

We're different

00:43:45--> 00:43:45

than we were

00:43:46--> 00:43:48

on the 29th of Shaban.

00:43:49--> 00:43:52

We're different now on this 29th day of

00:43:52--> 00:43:53

Ramadan.

00:43:54--> 00:43:56

We may not have achieved everything that we

00:43:56--> 00:43:57

wanted to have achieved.

00:43:57--> 00:43:59

We may have fallen short.

00:44:00--> 00:44:02

We may have made mistakes along the way.

00:44:02--> 00:44:03

But, Subhanallah,

00:44:04--> 00:44:05

Allah has

00:44:06--> 00:44:07

blessed us to increase.

00:44:09--> 00:44:11

Our aspiration should remain high.

00:44:12--> 00:44:13

Our competition

00:44:13--> 00:44:14

for his magfarin

00:44:15--> 00:44:16

and his pardoning

00:44:17--> 00:44:18

and his mercy

00:44:18--> 00:44:20

should remain intact.

00:44:20--> 00:44:22

We're not going to be the same people

00:44:22--> 00:44:24

after Ramadan as we were in Ramadan, and

00:44:24--> 00:44:27

that's okay. The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was

00:44:27--> 00:44:28

better in Ramadan

00:44:29--> 00:44:31

than he was any other time of the

00:44:31--> 00:44:31

year.

00:44:32--> 00:44:35

That's fine. We're going to strive differently in

00:44:35--> 00:44:37

Ramadan and especially in these last 10 than

00:44:37--> 00:44:38

we strive in any other time of the

00:44:38--> 00:44:39

year, and that's fine.

00:44:40--> 00:44:43

But our aspiration should be to keep a

00:44:43--> 00:44:44

degree

00:44:45--> 00:44:45

of what Allah

00:44:46--> 00:44:48

has blessed us to implement

00:44:48--> 00:44:50

of Ibadah, of understanding,

00:44:51--> 00:44:53

of recitation of the Quran and dukkir and

00:44:53--> 00:44:55

dua and charity,

00:44:55--> 00:44:56

and those

00:44:57--> 00:44:59

other aspects that Allah has blessed us to

00:44:59--> 00:45:01

implement from those things that he loves.

00:45:02--> 00:45:04

That we have the desire

00:45:04--> 00:45:07

to keep a portion of that going

00:45:07--> 00:45:09

all the way until next Ramadan,

00:45:10--> 00:45:13

and that we keep on improving next Ramadan,

00:45:13--> 00:45:15

and that we keep a higher percentage of

00:45:15--> 00:45:16

those things,

00:45:16--> 00:45:18

and that we die

00:45:18--> 00:45:20

in a state of improvement.

00:45:21--> 00:45:24

Wallahi, Allah azza wa jal, does not

00:45:25--> 00:45:26

require from us perfection,

00:45:27--> 00:45:30

and he did not create us in a

00:45:30--> 00:45:32

way that we could ever achieve perfection.

00:45:33--> 00:45:35

But we can die in a state of

00:45:35--> 00:45:36

improvement.

00:45:37--> 00:45:40

And if we die while we are improving,

00:45:41--> 00:45:43

then that is a husnal kitam.

00:45:43--> 00:45:47

That is a beautiful conclusion to life, and

00:45:47--> 00:45:48

we ask Allah

00:45:48--> 00:45:50

for husnal kitam.

00:45:50--> 00:45:51

May Allah

00:45:52--> 00:45:53

protect us

00:45:54--> 00:45:56

from the evil of Sha'an and from the

00:45:56--> 00:45:57

evil of the Sha'ateen

00:45:58--> 00:46:00

and from the evil Sha'ateen

00:46:00--> 00:46:01

amongst

00:46:02--> 00:46:04

jinn and the ins. May Allah

00:46:04--> 00:46:06

protect us from them, from the dua of

00:46:06--> 00:46:08

the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, that I

00:46:08--> 00:46:09

will leave you with.

00:46:12--> 00:46:12

Allahumma'innaalajziwalkesan.

00:46:15--> 00:46:16

Oh, Allah,

00:46:16--> 00:46:18

I seek refuge in you

00:46:19--> 00:46:19

from inability

00:46:20--> 00:46:21

and laziness.

00:46:22--> 00:46:25

Those are the things that kill aspirations.

00:46:26--> 00:46:26

Inability,

00:46:27--> 00:46:28

and laziness.

00:46:28--> 00:46:30

Some parts of inability are.

00:46:31--> 00:46:33

You don't have any control over that.

00:46:34--> 00:46:36

Some of it is your own positioning,

00:46:38--> 00:46:39

and laziness

00:46:39--> 00:46:40

is entirely

00:46:40--> 00:46:41

your attitude.

00:46:42--> 00:46:43

May Elijah O'Jill protect us

00:46:44--> 00:46:45

from laziness

00:46:45--> 00:46:46

and inability.

00:46:46--> 00:46:48

We ask Elijah O'Jill for

00:46:50--> 00:46:51

that he

00:46:51--> 00:46:54

give us firm determination to be guided,

00:46:54--> 00:46:56

that he give us firm determination

00:46:56--> 00:46:57

to be guided.

00:47:07--> 00:47:08

We ask Allah

00:47:08--> 00:47:10

to aid us in fasting what remains of

00:47:10--> 00:47:12

the month of Ramadan and to aid us

00:47:12--> 00:47:14

in standing what remains of its nights.

00:47:24--> 00:47:25

Really appreciate your

00:47:27--> 00:47:29

insight into the topic and

00:47:30--> 00:47:32

the insight that we all gained. The chat

00:47:32--> 00:47:34

is blowing up, Masha'Allah. Everyone is very much

00:47:36--> 00:47:37

very much engaged Insha'Allah.

00:47:38--> 00:47:39

And we do have a few minutes if

00:47:39--> 00:47:40

possible

00:47:41--> 00:47:43

that, we'd like to do some discussions. Let

00:47:43--> 00:47:45

me just make sure we're both spotlighted here.

00:47:46--> 00:47:48

But what I'd like to start with is,

00:47:49--> 00:47:50

I know that

00:47:51--> 00:47:53

in your own journey, right, someone asked about

00:47:53--> 00:47:54

how you personally

00:47:55--> 00:47:56

were able to,

00:47:57--> 00:47:59

to make that change in your life. Right?

00:47:59--> 00:48:01

And I know from what I understand of

00:48:01--> 00:48:03

your journey, early on when you went overseas,

00:48:03--> 00:48:05

it was just to learn Arabic. It wasn't

00:48:05--> 00:48:07

necessarily to go on this

00:48:07--> 00:48:09

journey that you found yourself on in the

00:48:09--> 00:48:10

position that you find yourself in. Now I

00:48:10--> 00:48:11

wonder if you could speak to that a

00:48:11--> 00:48:14

bit in terms of how an early aspiration

00:48:14--> 00:48:15

can develop

00:48:15--> 00:48:18

as new possibilities open up for you.

00:48:18--> 00:48:19

Yes. SubhanAllah.

00:48:19--> 00:48:20

So,

00:48:21--> 00:48:23

I think that there's a

00:48:23--> 00:48:25

a major role that Ikhlas

00:48:25--> 00:48:27

plays in all of this because

00:48:27--> 00:48:28

oftentimes,

00:48:29--> 00:48:32

when you start on a path to something,

00:48:33--> 00:48:35

you don't actually

00:48:36--> 00:48:37

know what's at the end of that tunnel.

00:48:39--> 00:48:41

What you thought was a light might actually

00:48:41--> 00:48:43

be a fire. Like, you really don't know.

00:48:44--> 00:48:45

But,

00:48:48--> 00:48:50

when you turn to Eliza Wajalindu,

00:48:50--> 00:48:52

I will tell you this on a personal

00:48:52--> 00:48:52

note.

00:48:54--> 00:48:55

One of the first

00:48:55--> 00:48:57

books that I owned in Islam,

00:48:58--> 00:48:59

I think this was,

00:49:00--> 00:49:02

so I had, like, 40 Hadithi Memin. I

00:49:02--> 00:49:03

had I had almost half.

00:49:05--> 00:49:07

I have 40 high lithium memonoid. Like, those

00:49:07--> 00:49:08

were that was my go to.

00:49:10--> 00:49:11

There was a book

00:49:12--> 00:49:13

back in the day.

00:49:13--> 00:49:15

You will not be able to find it

00:49:15--> 00:49:17

with LoRa item. It was called authentic supplications.

00:49:18--> 00:49:19

It was a white book

00:49:19--> 00:49:21

that was printed by

00:49:22--> 00:49:25

a spin off of a Kuwaiti organization that

00:49:25--> 00:49:26

I will not name.

00:49:27--> 00:49:29

But they had a, like a headquarters in

00:49:29--> 00:49:30

Florida, Kissimmee,

00:49:31--> 00:49:32

at the time. It's 94

00:49:34--> 00:49:34

maybe.

00:49:35--> 00:49:37

This book called Authentic Supplications

00:49:38--> 00:49:39

was before

00:49:39--> 00:49:42

Islam Muslim was translated into English, at least

00:49:42--> 00:49:43

from what I remember.

00:49:44--> 00:49:44

And

00:49:46--> 00:49:48

for me, as a new Muslim,

00:49:49--> 00:49:50

I'm opening up this book. First of all,

00:49:50--> 00:49:53

the whole concept of authentic was just like,

00:49:53--> 00:49:53

That was,

00:49:54--> 00:49:55

took me a while to get used to

00:49:55--> 00:49:56

this.

00:49:56--> 00:49:58

You know, there's hadith and,

00:49:58--> 00:50:01

like, there's a system for verifying that the

00:50:01--> 00:50:01

prophet

00:50:01--> 00:50:04

actually said something or different. Like, this was

00:50:04--> 00:50:05

very different from any other religion that I

00:50:05--> 00:50:07

was, familiar with.

00:50:10--> 00:50:12

But authentic supplications, it starts out, you open

00:50:12--> 00:50:13

it up. There's a duive for when you

00:50:13--> 00:50:15

put your clothes on. There's a duive for

00:50:15--> 00:50:16

when you walk into the bathroom, when you

00:50:16--> 00:50:17

come out the bathroom, from

00:50:18--> 00:50:19

when you enter into a town, and when

00:50:19--> 00:50:20

you leave a town, or when you're gonna

00:50:20--> 00:50:22

travel, and when and I was just like,

00:50:24--> 00:50:26

all of these things that we can say,

00:50:26--> 00:50:28

that we can pray, like, there's a there's

00:50:28--> 00:50:29

a formula that the prophet left

00:50:30--> 00:50:31

behind for us.

00:50:33--> 00:50:35

I will say that I believe

00:50:36--> 00:50:38

that this was from Eliza Wigell's

00:50:41--> 00:50:41

looked

00:50:42--> 00:50:43

for me on a personal

00:50:44--> 00:50:44

level

00:50:45--> 00:50:46

from his mercy.

00:50:47--> 00:50:49

That that helped me to develop

00:50:50--> 00:50:53

my tongue to call upon a lost from

00:50:53--> 00:50:55

a very early stage in Islam

00:50:56--> 00:50:57

prophetically,

00:50:59--> 00:51:01

that I was using the duas that the

00:51:01--> 00:51:02

prophet

00:51:03--> 00:51:06

was using from a very early stage.

00:51:06--> 00:51:08

And when you get into that habit

00:51:09--> 00:51:10

early on,

00:51:11--> 00:51:13

it it bears its fruits. Well,

00:51:15--> 00:51:18

I I believe, inshallah, that that was from

00:51:18--> 00:51:20

Elijah Jawah wanting good for me. And just

00:51:20--> 00:51:22

the fact that I came from where I

00:51:22--> 00:51:23

came from to become a Muslim

00:51:24--> 00:51:25

is somewhat of a miracle itself

00:51:26--> 00:51:28

and, truly a blessing from a lives with

00:51:28--> 00:51:29

them. So,

00:51:30--> 00:51:32

yeah, my journey early on was was one

00:51:32--> 00:51:34

of Arabic, but I do believe that I

00:51:34--> 00:51:36

wanted to learn it for the sake of

00:51:36--> 00:51:37

Elijah. A lot of those best.

00:51:38--> 00:51:41

I'm I'm hoping that there was a class

00:51:41--> 00:51:43

in that, And I believe that those people

00:51:43--> 00:51:44

who are sincere,

00:51:45--> 00:51:46

what they do for the sake of Elijah

00:51:47--> 00:51:48

and who strive.

00:51:51--> 00:51:53

And when you strive for the sake of

00:51:53--> 00:51:56

Elijah, Elijah will open up his paths and

00:51:57--> 00:51:59

that's the short answer.

00:52:00--> 00:52:00

Answer.

00:52:03--> 00:52:04

Beautifully

00:52:05--> 00:52:05

put.

00:52:05--> 00:52:06

Now

00:52:06--> 00:52:08

in the chat, and we wanna value your

00:52:08--> 00:52:10

time. If you have a few more minutes,

00:52:10--> 00:52:12

we really appreciate it. This has been amazing

00:52:12--> 00:52:14

amazing session for all of us. There's a

00:52:14--> 00:52:16

question that came up. Right? So

00:52:17--> 00:52:19

we talk about these aspirations, but for some

00:52:19--> 00:52:20

people, they feel

00:52:20--> 00:52:21

I'll combine 2 questions.

00:52:23--> 00:52:25

One person put it as how unrealistic can

00:52:25--> 00:52:26

we be in our dua

00:52:27--> 00:52:29

in the sense that, like, I know my

00:52:29--> 00:52:31

actions aren't gonna do it. And so I'm

00:52:31--> 00:52:33

asking for these things, but I don't feel

00:52:33--> 00:52:35

like my actions are connected to it. And

00:52:35--> 00:52:37

how another person put it, they said that,

00:52:37--> 00:52:39

like, I have these aspirations, but I can't

00:52:39--> 00:52:41

relate personally. I can't put myself in these

00:52:41--> 00:52:42

situations. So

00:52:42--> 00:52:44

and I think we're starting to open some

00:52:44--> 00:52:46

doors for a lot of us because

00:52:47--> 00:52:49

we're not used to dreaming big many ways.

00:52:49--> 00:52:51

We've been limited in we limit ourselves.

00:52:51--> 00:52:53

Our cultures limit us.

00:52:53--> 00:52:55

Shaytan limits us. And so often, a lot

00:52:55--> 00:52:57

of what you've described is maybe a new

00:52:57--> 00:52:59

perspective for some of us. So I was

00:52:59--> 00:53:00

hoping you can maybe give us a little

00:53:00--> 00:53:01

bit more in terms

00:53:02--> 00:53:03

of the permission we have

00:53:04--> 00:53:06

to to have those those huge aspirations

00:53:07--> 00:53:09

even though our current state may not warrant

00:53:09--> 00:53:10

us being in that position.

00:53:12--> 00:53:13

And I think that's the whole point.

00:53:14--> 00:53:16

Our current state may not warrant that,

00:53:16--> 00:53:17

But so

00:53:20--> 00:53:23

what? It's all about how you end.

00:53:24--> 00:53:26

It's all about the end.

00:53:26--> 00:53:29

It's not about where you are right now

00:53:30--> 00:53:32

in terms of how you're going to fare

00:53:33--> 00:53:34

in the hereafter.

00:53:34--> 00:53:37

Sure. Where you are right now is part

00:53:37--> 00:53:38

of your journey

00:53:38--> 00:53:40

to meeting Allah Azarajan,

00:53:40--> 00:53:42

but it's not the conclusion of that journey.

00:53:43--> 00:53:45

And I think that the day before Omar

00:53:46--> 00:53:47

accepted his land,

00:53:48--> 00:53:50

and if somebody said that he was going

00:53:50--> 00:53:52

to be in the highest station of Jannah,

00:53:52--> 00:53:53

I I mean, who would who would have

00:53:53--> 00:53:56

believed that? Right? Who would have believed that

00:53:56--> 00:53:57

he would be from the ashalah and of

00:53:57--> 00:53:59

the Jannah, and he's up there, Yani, to

00:53:59--> 00:54:01

causing problems for the Muslims?

00:54:02--> 00:54:02

Right?

00:54:03--> 00:54:03

So

00:54:04--> 00:54:05

I think that

00:54:06--> 00:54:08

it's very simple. We just have to honestly,

00:54:10--> 00:54:12

if that's where you are, take your role

00:54:12--> 00:54:13

model as a

00:54:14--> 00:54:16

take, you know, look back at somebody who's

00:54:16--> 00:54:16

with a man

00:54:17--> 00:54:19

who before our lives would put them on

00:54:19--> 00:54:20

a path of isti kama.

00:54:21--> 00:54:22

I mean, they may have been some of

00:54:22--> 00:54:24

the people who were detrimental to society.

00:54:25--> 00:54:26

Public nuisance.

00:54:27--> 00:54:30

You know? Problem. Pro you know, causing problems.

00:54:31--> 00:54:33

And I don't think that anybody on that's

00:54:33--> 00:54:35

listening right now is one of those people.

00:54:35--> 00:54:38

Allah has blessed you to get this far.

00:54:38--> 00:54:39

And so

00:54:40--> 00:54:42

asking Allah for,

00:54:43--> 00:54:44

You know, again,

00:54:47--> 00:54:49

this is not one of those things.

00:54:51--> 00:54:53

It doesn't matter what life looks like for

00:54:53--> 00:54:54

you. It doesn't matter what you achieve in

00:54:54--> 00:54:57

life, whether you're the greatest surgeon ever because

00:54:57--> 00:54:58

your dad told you you needed to be

00:54:58--> 00:54:59

or whatever.

00:55:01--> 00:55:02

That has no bearing,

00:55:04--> 00:55:06

but it also doesn't determine.

00:55:08--> 00:55:10

There's absolutely nothing that you could ask

00:55:10--> 00:55:12

for that is greater than seeing the face

00:55:12--> 00:55:13

of Allah

00:55:16--> 00:55:17

from his du'a,

00:55:20--> 00:55:21

All I ask you for a cool life

00:55:21--> 00:55:24

after death. Right? Cool Here,

00:55:26--> 00:55:27

a life of

00:55:27--> 00:55:28

of serenity

00:55:29--> 00:55:29

after death.

00:55:31--> 00:55:32

This

00:55:37--> 00:55:38

This was from the Du'a had to prophesy

00:55:38--> 00:55:39

something towards some of his companions.

00:55:40--> 00:55:43

And the the enjoyment of looking at your

00:55:43--> 00:55:44

face,

00:55:46--> 00:55:47

Nobody deserves that.

00:55:48--> 00:55:49

Nobody deserves Jannah.

00:55:50--> 00:55:51

The prophet

00:55:51--> 00:55:52

said that none of us are going to

00:55:52--> 00:55:53

enter Jannah. None of you.

00:55:55--> 00:55:55

It's

00:55:56--> 00:55:57

compensation.

00:55:57--> 00:55:59

Jannah is not going to come as compensation

00:55:59--> 00:56:00

for your deeds.

00:56:01--> 00:56:02

You don't deserve,

00:56:02--> 00:56:03

Gunna.

00:56:03--> 00:56:05

Then no no more than you deserve

00:56:06--> 00:56:09

the to purchase this, you know, $6,000,000

00:56:10--> 00:56:11

mansion for $2.

00:56:11--> 00:56:13

Like, it that that's not compensation. That's not

00:56:13--> 00:56:16

fair compensation. There's nothing that you can do

00:56:16--> 00:56:18

that's fair compensation for Jindan. This is what

00:56:18--> 00:56:19

the prophet is saying. They said, not even

00:56:19--> 00:56:20

you, old messenger,

00:56:21--> 00:56:24

Mind you, there's nobody from Islam that does

00:56:24--> 00:56:25

any deed except that the prophet

00:56:26--> 00:56:27

is getting sharing in that reward.

00:56:28--> 00:56:29

How did how do you make wudu? You

00:56:29--> 00:56:31

made wudu because you learned the hadith of

00:56:31--> 00:56:32

a man that would not faint. Who learned

00:56:32--> 00:56:33

it from the prophet

00:56:36--> 00:56:38

Whoever's teaching knowledge is the is is also

00:56:38--> 00:56:41

getting that reward. Every act that the Ummah

00:56:41--> 00:56:43

does, the prophet is saying someone is sharing

00:56:43--> 00:56:43

in that reward.

00:56:44--> 00:56:46

Prophet is someone saying not even he is

00:56:46--> 00:56:47

going to enter Jannah

00:56:49--> 00:56:51

as a as compensation for his deeds, except

00:56:51--> 00:56:53

that Elijah encompasses me with his,

00:56:54--> 00:56:55

with his

00:56:55--> 00:56:56

mercy.

00:56:56--> 00:56:57

So

00:56:57--> 00:56:59

the issue is not about whether you deserve.

00:57:01--> 00:57:01

It's about,

00:57:02--> 00:57:03

do you understand

00:57:03--> 00:57:04

that Allah is?

00:57:06--> 00:57:08

Do you know who Allah is?

00:57:08--> 00:57:09

Do you know that

00:57:10--> 00:57:12

it's not about whether you deserve it or

00:57:12--> 00:57:12

not?

00:57:13--> 00:57:15

It's about are you following

00:57:15--> 00:57:16

what he

00:57:16--> 00:57:19

instructed us to do? Whether that is from

00:57:19--> 00:57:21

the Quran or whether it's on the tongue

00:57:21--> 00:57:22

of his prophet,

00:57:23--> 00:57:23

the prophet

00:57:24--> 00:57:25

told us to ask for fibdos.

00:57:27--> 00:57:27

Prophet

00:57:27--> 00:57:28

knows we don't deserve

00:57:30--> 00:57:32

it. So it's really not about where you

00:57:32--> 00:57:33

are. It's about will you

00:57:34--> 00:57:35

have enough confidence

00:57:36--> 00:57:38

in the Messenger of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa

00:57:38--> 00:57:39

sallam?

00:57:39--> 00:57:40

Will you have enough

00:57:42--> 00:57:44

and trust upon Allah

00:57:46--> 00:57:47

to ask for it and then strive for

00:57:47--> 00:57:49

it? And even if you fall short,

00:57:50--> 00:57:51

know that Allah is.

00:57:52--> 00:57:54

Think about it like this, man.

00:57:55--> 00:57:55

You know,

00:57:59--> 00:58:00

I I don't know the age group that

00:58:00--> 00:58:02

I'm talking to. I have I have older

00:58:02--> 00:58:03

children.

00:58:03--> 00:58:03

So

00:58:05--> 00:58:07

I know that many of them, you and

00:58:07--> 00:58:09

your children are also they're gonna fall short

00:58:09--> 00:58:10

of your expectations

00:58:10--> 00:58:12

sometimes. Not all the time.

00:58:13--> 00:58:15

But when you see them striving,

00:58:16--> 00:58:17

right, you may have had a

00:58:18--> 00:58:19

a different

00:58:20--> 00:58:22

goal that you wanted to them to reach,

00:58:22--> 00:58:24

and maybe they didn't they they weren't able

00:58:24--> 00:58:26

to hit that target, but they tried so

00:58:26--> 00:58:27

hard.

00:58:28--> 00:58:30

You're gonna reward them for their effort, Willa,

00:58:31--> 00:58:32

even if they don't hit the target.

00:58:33--> 00:58:35

Ask Allah, Azawajal, for what you want.

00:58:36--> 00:58:38

Strive for it and know that Allah is

00:58:38--> 00:58:41

kinder to you, more merciful to you than

00:58:41--> 00:58:43

you will ever be kind to your children

00:58:43--> 00:58:45

and be merciful to your children. The law

00:58:45--> 00:58:46

is more than that.

00:58:47--> 00:58:47

So

00:58:48--> 00:58:49

believe that and strive for it, be it

00:58:49--> 00:58:50

in the day of your time.

00:58:56--> 00:58:57

I'm going to ask,

00:58:58--> 00:58:58

that,

00:58:59--> 00:59:01

I'd be allowed to be excused.

00:59:03--> 00:59:03

I actually,

00:59:04--> 00:59:06

almost missed this call. We have a brother

00:59:06--> 00:59:08

in our community whose father had a heart

00:59:08--> 00:59:09

attack last night.

00:59:10--> 00:59:12

He had several more heart attacks on the

00:59:12--> 00:59:13

way to the hospital,

00:59:13--> 00:59:17

and he he called literally right before I

00:59:17--> 00:59:19

was able to jump on and was mentioning

00:59:19--> 00:59:19

that the

00:59:20--> 00:59:22

3 doctors are telling them to remove him

00:59:22--> 00:59:23

from life support.

00:59:23--> 00:59:25

Hello. It it created a little, not just

00:59:25--> 00:59:27

a ficki side of things, but the pastoral

00:59:27--> 00:59:29

side of things. I need to get back

00:59:29--> 00:59:31

to, Of course. The deal with the situation.

00:59:31--> 00:59:33

Certainly. No. That that's a great place to

00:59:33--> 00:59:34

end off. Thank you so much for being

00:59:34--> 00:59:36

so generous with your time and being with

00:59:36--> 00:59:38

the sheikh and, and our our dive with

00:59:38--> 00:59:39

with him as well.

00:59:52--> 00:59:55

And alhamdulillah that was doctor Taherd Wyatt. As

00:59:55--> 00:59:56

many of you mentioned early on, you'd seen

00:59:56--> 00:59:59

him in Yaqeen, seen him in other,

00:59:59--> 01:00:01

places as well. And we're so excited, and

01:00:01--> 01:00:03

we we hope it's not the last opportunity

01:00:03--> 01:00:05

that we have to spend time with him

01:00:05--> 01:00:08

here in Ramadan 360 or perhaps in other

01:00:08--> 01:00:10

avenues. May Allah bless him and bless all

01:00:10--> 01:00:11

of you for your amazing,

01:00:11--> 01:00:14

participation as well. It was really heartwarming to

01:00:14--> 01:00:14

see,

01:00:15--> 01:00:17

us start to expand our horizons a bit.

01:00:17--> 01:00:19

Right? You know, it's not comfortable sometimes to

01:00:20--> 01:00:21

feel like I'm allowed to

01:00:22--> 01:00:23

aspire to these amazing

01:00:24--> 01:00:25

examples from the past.

01:00:25--> 01:00:26

And

01:00:26--> 01:00:29

we forget sometimes that the prophet himself, sallallahu

01:00:29--> 01:00:31

alaihi wasallam, he is meant to be our

01:00:31--> 01:00:33

example. Right? He he wasn't meant to show

01:00:33--> 01:00:33

us what's not possible.

01:00:34--> 01:00:35

His life is to show us what is

01:00:35--> 01:00:37

possible. And so we strive to,

01:00:38--> 01:00:40

follow in his blessed footsteps, sallallahu alaihi wa

01:00:40--> 01:00:43

sallam. They ask Allah that all of us,

01:00:43--> 01:00:45

we we aim higher after this session and

01:00:45--> 01:00:48

we aspire to to great things. And that

01:00:48--> 01:00:52

Allah accepts us despite our shortcomings and our,

01:00:52--> 01:00:54

in those things that are weaknesses within us.

01:00:56--> 01:00:57

With that,

01:00:58--> 01:00:59

we do wanna go ahead and continue the

01:00:59--> 01:01:01

session inshallah to Allah.

01:01:02--> 01:01:03

Very special last,

01:01:03--> 01:01:06

moments of Ramadan 360 in that last couple

01:01:06--> 01:01:08

of days here. But we're here now. I

01:01:08--> 01:01:09

see some people in the chat, you know,

01:01:09--> 01:01:12

expressing some sadness. That's okay. But we're here.

01:01:12--> 01:01:14

We're still here. So let's take in every

01:01:14--> 01:01:17

moment. Let's enjoy every moment inshallah ta'ala. And,

01:01:18--> 01:01:20

I would like to see if

01:01:20--> 01:01:21

Ustadatemia,

01:01:22--> 01:01:23

is available.

01:01:24--> 01:01:26

And yes, I do see let's go and

01:01:26--> 01:01:29

add a spotlight here. Bismillah. Ustadah Assalamu alaikum

01:01:30--> 01:01:30

How are you doing?

01:01:35--> 01:01:36

Shall we begin?

01:01:37--> 01:01:37

Yes.

01:01:49--> 01:01:50

So when I think of

01:01:51--> 01:01:51

of ambition,

01:01:52--> 01:01:53

I think of 3 things.

01:01:54--> 01:01:56

The first thing I think of is

01:01:56--> 01:01:57

a clear

01:01:58--> 01:01:58

goal

01:01:59--> 01:02:02

and not just an ordinary goal, but a

01:02:02--> 01:02:02

high

01:02:02--> 01:02:04

goal that you want to achieve.

01:02:05--> 01:02:06

The second thing

01:02:09--> 01:02:10

that I think of is firm

01:02:11--> 01:02:11

resolve.

01:02:12--> 01:02:13

Because you can

01:02:14--> 01:02:16

set goals and you can have, you know,

01:02:16--> 01:02:17

high aspirations.

01:02:17--> 01:02:18

But

01:02:18--> 01:02:21

if you don't have a strong resolve

01:02:22--> 01:02:24

to achieve those goals, then that is just

01:02:24--> 01:02:26

Amani. And Allah

01:02:26--> 01:02:27

tells us in the Quran

01:02:28--> 01:02:28

that

01:02:30--> 01:02:33

that Jannah is not attained just by your

01:02:33--> 01:02:34

wishes.

01:02:35--> 01:02:35

Right?

01:02:35--> 01:02:37

So the second thing I think the second

01:02:37--> 01:02:39

thing I think of is,

01:02:40--> 01:02:41

firm resolve,

01:02:41--> 01:02:42

PRISM.

01:02:43--> 01:02:45

And the third thing I think of is

01:02:46--> 01:02:46

work,

01:02:47--> 01:02:48

hard work.

01:02:48--> 01:02:51

So when you combine these three things together,

01:02:52--> 01:02:53

then

01:02:53--> 01:02:56

this is what success looks like.

01:02:56--> 01:02:58

That you have a high goal,

01:02:58--> 01:03:00

you have high aspirations.

01:03:00--> 01:03:03

You don't become small. You don't set, you

01:03:03--> 01:03:06

know, small goals. You're not afraid.

01:03:06--> 01:03:09

Right? You have high high aspirations.

01:03:09--> 01:03:11

You have the firmness of intention.

01:03:12--> 01:03:15

And then with that, you also combine

01:03:15--> 01:03:16

hard work.

01:03:16--> 01:03:18

Now let's break this down. Let's look at

01:03:18--> 01:03:20

the first thing. The first thing,

01:03:20--> 01:03:22

when you set high goals.

01:03:23--> 01:03:24

As Muslims,

01:03:24--> 01:03:27

what is it that we are all aiming

01:03:27--> 01:03:27

for?

01:03:28--> 01:03:30

What is it that we're all striving towards?

01:03:30--> 01:03:32

What is our dream?

01:03:32--> 01:03:34

It is, of course, Jannah.

01:03:34--> 01:03:36

Right? And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us

01:03:37--> 01:03:39

in Surat Al Irmwan, aya 185,

01:03:40--> 01:03:40

that

01:03:46--> 01:03:48

that the person who is

01:03:48--> 01:03:50

saved from hellfire

01:03:51--> 01:03:53

and they're admitted into paradise,

01:03:53--> 01:03:55

then such a person has attained success.

01:03:57--> 01:03:59

So the successful person is the one who

01:03:59--> 01:04:01

is saved from jahannam

01:04:02--> 01:04:04

and they are admitted into paradise.

01:04:05--> 01:04:06

Allah

01:04:06--> 01:04:09

does not say they enter into paradise. No.

01:04:09--> 01:04:12

The fact that they are admitted into paradise

01:04:12--> 01:04:12

by Allah

01:04:13--> 01:04:14

mercy.

01:04:15--> 01:04:16

So this

01:04:16--> 01:04:18

is the the goal that Allah

01:04:18--> 01:04:20

has given us. Right? This is the the

01:04:20--> 01:04:22

greatest goal that Allah has given us that

01:04:22--> 01:04:24

don't just aim for duniya.

01:04:24--> 01:04:27

Aim for the akhira. And in the akhira,

01:04:28--> 01:04:29

in jannah also.

01:04:32--> 01:04:35

The approval of Allah, that is the greatest

01:04:35--> 01:04:36

achievement.

01:04:36--> 01:04:38

And you see this in the Quran

01:04:38--> 01:04:40

that, for example, Yusuf alaihis salam,

01:04:41--> 01:04:43

he eventually came to a point in his

01:04:43--> 01:04:45

life where he basically had everything.

01:04:46--> 01:04:49

He had wealth. He had power. His family

01:04:49--> 01:04:49

was together.

01:04:51--> 01:04:53

And what was his goal over there?

01:04:53--> 01:04:54

He was asking Allah

01:04:55--> 01:04:55

for

01:05:00--> 01:05:02

that allow me he

01:05:04--> 01:05:06

said, oh, Allah, you are my my

01:05:07--> 01:05:09

protector, my close friend in this world and

01:05:09--> 01:05:10

the hereafter.

01:05:11--> 01:05:13

Allow me to die as a Muslim and

01:05:13--> 01:05:14

join me with the righteous.

01:05:15--> 01:05:16

And where are the righteous?

01:05:16--> 01:05:17

In paradise.

01:05:19--> 01:05:19

So

01:05:20--> 01:05:22

the first thing is that aim high.

01:05:23--> 01:05:25

Right? And if and this requires

01:05:25--> 01:05:28

that in this world, you set goals that

01:05:28--> 01:05:30

will lead you towards this highest goal.

01:05:31--> 01:05:32

You have ambitions

01:05:33--> 01:05:34

that lead you towards

01:05:34--> 01:05:35

Jannah.

01:05:36--> 01:05:40

So any worldly goal also, like, for example,

01:05:40--> 01:05:42

you want to travel somewhere. You want to,

01:05:43--> 01:05:44

you know, set up a business. You want

01:05:44--> 01:05:46

to be able to earn a certain amount

01:05:46--> 01:05:48

of money. You want to be able to

01:05:49--> 01:05:50

set up a a a,

01:05:51--> 01:05:53

you know, an organization or whatever it may

01:05:53--> 01:05:55

be. Anything big or small that you're doing.

01:05:55--> 01:05:55

You're studying.

01:05:56--> 01:05:59

Right? All of that should be leading you

01:05:59--> 01:06:03

towards what your ultimate goal, which is

01:06:03--> 01:06:06

Jannah, which is the approval of Allah.

01:06:07--> 01:06:08

And we see in the Quran that, you

01:06:08--> 01:06:10

know, for example, the prophets of Allah,

01:06:11--> 01:06:12

they had really high goals,

01:06:13--> 01:06:15

you know, like Ibrahim alaihis salam.

01:06:16--> 01:06:19

He in his duas, what is that he

01:06:19--> 01:06:20

asked Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

01:06:21--> 01:06:21

for? That

01:06:30--> 01:06:32

that, oh, Allah, from our

01:06:33--> 01:06:35

children, from our generations to come,

01:06:35--> 01:06:39

make an entire ummah, an entire nation that

01:06:39--> 01:06:42

is going to submit to you. So Ibrahim

01:06:42--> 01:06:44

wasn't just thinking about himself.

01:06:45--> 01:06:48

Right? He's also thinking about who? About his

01:06:48--> 01:06:49

future generations.

01:06:50--> 01:06:51

So dream big.

01:06:52--> 01:06:55

Your ultimate goal is paradise, and every

01:06:56--> 01:06:58

subgoal that you have, it should eventually lead

01:06:58--> 01:07:01

you towards the approval of Allah

01:07:02--> 01:07:06

The second thing, razm, strong intention and resolve.

01:07:06--> 01:07:08

We see, for example, Musa

01:07:08--> 01:07:09

in the Quran.

01:07:10--> 01:07:11

How he,

01:07:12--> 01:07:13

he was so determined

01:07:14--> 01:07:15

to seek knowledge.

01:07:16--> 01:07:19

So in Suratul Kahf verse number 60, Allah

01:07:19--> 01:07:20

says,

01:07:23--> 01:07:24

said

01:07:25--> 01:07:26

to his servant

01:07:26--> 01:07:29

that I am not going to quit

01:07:32--> 01:07:32

until

01:07:33--> 01:07:36

I reach the place where the 2 seas

01:07:36--> 01:07:37

meet, the the junction of of the 2

01:07:37--> 01:07:38

waters.

01:07:39--> 01:07:40

Because that is the place where he was

01:07:40--> 01:07:41

supposed to meet, Khidr.

01:07:42--> 01:07:44

So he said, I'm not gonna quit until

01:07:44--> 01:07:46

I reach there. Oh,

01:07:48--> 01:07:48

or I,

01:07:49--> 01:07:51

go on for years years.

01:07:52--> 01:07:54

Meaning, even if it takes me years years,

01:07:54--> 01:07:55

I am not quitting.

01:07:56--> 01:07:57

So

01:07:57--> 01:07:59

this was Musa alaihi salaam's

01:08:00--> 01:08:01

firm intention

01:08:01--> 01:08:03

in making the journey

01:08:03--> 01:08:04

to seek knowledge.

01:08:05--> 01:08:08

Now what happens is that sometimes we do

01:08:08--> 01:08:09

make the intention,

01:08:09--> 01:08:12

and we start off, but then things get

01:08:12--> 01:08:13

hard. They get tough.

01:08:14--> 01:08:16

Right? So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us

01:08:16--> 01:08:17

in Surat Al Imran, aya

01:08:18--> 01:08:19

159. He tells his messenger

01:08:19--> 01:08:20

that

01:08:23--> 01:08:26

When you when you make your resolve,

01:08:27--> 01:08:29

then you put your trust in Allah.

01:08:30--> 01:08:31

That means don't quit

01:08:32--> 01:08:33

and keep going.

01:08:33--> 01:08:35

And sometimes what happens is that you have

01:08:35--> 01:08:38

that firm resolve. You want to keep going.

01:08:38--> 01:08:40

But it's the people around you,

01:08:41--> 01:08:44

right, near and far who say things

01:08:44--> 01:08:47

which can cause you to become weak in

01:08:47--> 01:08:48

your intention.

01:08:49--> 01:08:50

So

01:08:50--> 01:08:51

Allah tells his messenger

01:08:52--> 01:08:53

that

01:08:56--> 01:08:58

that the people who do not believe

01:08:58--> 01:09:01

should not make you quit.

01:09:01--> 01:09:04

Not quit, but they should not find you

01:09:04--> 01:09:04

light.

01:09:05--> 01:09:07

And if someone is light, what that what

01:09:07--> 01:09:09

that means is that you can easily sway

01:09:09--> 01:09:09

them.

01:09:10--> 01:09:12

Right? Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also tells

01:09:12--> 01:09:15

us in Surat Al Miran, verse 186,

01:09:18--> 01:09:20

that that you are definitely going to be

01:09:20--> 01:09:21

tested

01:09:21--> 01:09:25

in your in your properties and also in

01:09:25--> 01:09:27

your selves, in in your in your bodies,

01:09:28--> 01:09:29

in your personal lives.

01:09:29--> 01:09:30

You're going to be tested.

01:09:36--> 01:09:38

And you are definitely going to hear

01:09:39--> 01:09:41

from the people who were given the scripture

01:09:41--> 01:09:41

before you.

01:09:44--> 01:09:46

And you're also going to hear from the

01:09:46--> 01:09:48

people who associate partners with Allah. What are

01:09:48--> 01:09:50

you going to hear from them?

01:09:52--> 01:09:54

A lot of hurtful things.

01:09:56--> 01:09:58

You're going to hear a lot of hurtful

01:09:58--> 01:09:59

things from these people.

01:10:00--> 01:10:02

So what is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala preparing

01:10:02--> 01:10:05

us for? He's basically telling us that do

01:10:05--> 01:10:08

not get swayed by these people, by by

01:10:08--> 01:10:10

the kind of things they say to you.

01:10:11--> 01:10:13

Because when you have this high goal and

01:10:13--> 01:10:16

you're working towards it, you have the intention,

01:10:16--> 01:10:19

then there are going to be obstacles

01:10:19--> 01:10:21

on the way. So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

01:10:21--> 01:10:22

tells us what intasbiro

01:10:23--> 01:10:26

wa taqoo fa inna dalikumin arzmirul umur. Allah

01:10:26--> 01:10:28

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala wants us to have patience

01:10:28--> 01:10:30

and to have taqwa of Allah.

01:10:30--> 01:10:33

Now, the third thing, hard work and patience.

01:10:34--> 01:10:36

It is not possible that you set a

01:10:36--> 01:10:37

high goal,

01:10:38--> 01:10:40

You you have high aspirations

01:10:40--> 01:10:42

and then things are going to be easy.

01:10:43--> 01:10:46

No. You have to put in the work.

01:10:46--> 01:10:48

Yes. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will facilitate the

01:10:48--> 01:10:50

journey for you.

01:10:50--> 01:10:51

Right?

01:10:55--> 01:10:56

Is there any Allah

01:10:57--> 01:10:58

has made the Quran

01:10:59--> 01:11:01

easy for remembrance. Is there any who will

01:11:01--> 01:11:02

take lesson?

01:11:02--> 01:11:04

Does this mean that memorizing the Quran is

01:11:04--> 01:11:08

easy? No. It can take years years. It

01:11:08--> 01:11:09

can take an entire lifetime.

01:11:11--> 01:11:14

Ease does not mean that things are going

01:11:14--> 01:11:15

to be simple and that you're not gonna

01:11:15--> 01:11:17

have to put in any hard work.

01:11:17--> 01:11:19

When you have high aspirations,

01:11:20--> 01:11:22

you have to put in the work. And

01:11:22--> 01:11:24

when you put in the work, Allah's

01:11:25--> 01:11:28

help also comes. He gives you steadfastness,

01:11:28--> 01:11:30

but you have to have that firm resolve

01:11:31--> 01:11:33

that, yes, I am here. I'm not quitting.

01:11:33--> 01:11:34

I am not leaving.

01:11:35--> 01:11:37

I am going to do this until the

01:11:37--> 01:11:37

very end.

01:11:38--> 01:11:39

And Allah

01:11:39--> 01:11:41

tells it in the Quran. For example, in

01:11:41--> 01:11:42

Buqarah, verse 146.

01:11:44--> 01:11:47

Not Baqarah. Al Imran. Surat Al Imran, verse

01:11:47--> 01:11:47

146,

01:11:49--> 01:11:49

that

01:11:54--> 01:11:56

That there were so many prophets before

01:11:57--> 01:11:57

who,

01:11:59--> 01:12:00

alongside whom

01:12:01--> 01:12:01

thousands

01:12:02--> 01:12:03

of righteous men fought

01:12:04--> 01:12:06

in in the way of Allah. The prophets

01:12:06--> 01:12:10

of Allah and alongside them were who? 1,000

01:12:10--> 01:12:11

of righteous men.

01:12:11--> 01:12:13

And they're all fighting in the way of

01:12:13--> 01:12:14

Allah and what's happening?

01:12:14--> 01:12:16

They're facing hardship. Allah

01:12:17--> 01:12:17

says,

01:12:21--> 01:12:23

They did not become

01:12:24--> 01:12:27

they they did not lose confidence

01:12:28--> 01:12:29

because of what

01:12:29--> 01:12:31

struck them in the way of Allah.

01:12:33--> 01:12:34

And they did not become weak.

01:12:36--> 01:12:38

And they did not quit.

01:12:38--> 01:12:40

They did not surrender to the enemy and

01:12:40--> 01:12:42

quit. No, they kept going.

01:12:44--> 01:12:47

Now when they did face hardship,

01:12:47--> 01:12:49

what did they do? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

01:12:49--> 01:12:50

tells

01:12:50--> 01:12:52

us that their only statement was

01:12:55--> 01:12:56

our lord forgive us our sins,

01:12:58--> 01:13:00

and also forgive us our excesses

01:13:00--> 01:13:01

in our affair,

01:13:04--> 01:13:06

and plant our feet firm.

01:13:06--> 01:13:09

Give us steadfastness because this comes only from

01:13:09--> 01:13:09

Allah.

01:13:10--> 01:13:13

The ability to stay firm, to not quit,

01:13:14--> 01:13:16

to keep going, this comes from Allah.

01:13:18--> 01:13:21

And give us against the disbelieving people.

01:13:21--> 01:13:23

This also comes only from Allah.

01:13:24--> 01:13:26

We see also the example of

01:13:26--> 01:13:27

of,

01:13:28--> 01:13:29

versus Jalut,

01:13:30--> 01:13:32

right, in Surat Al Baqah, verse

01:13:32--> 01:13:33

247 onwards,

01:13:34--> 01:13:36

that how when they when they saw,

01:13:37--> 01:13:40

Jalut and his and his armies, they said,

01:13:43--> 01:13:46

They said that we we don't have the

01:13:46--> 01:13:48

power to face Jalut and his armies,

01:13:49--> 01:13:50

that we are so small.

01:13:51--> 01:13:54

How can we fight them? This is this

01:13:54--> 01:13:56

is not gonna be possible for us.

01:13:56--> 01:13:57

But what happened?

01:13:58--> 01:14:01

Among them, the people who were certain that

01:14:01--> 01:14:02

they were going to meet Allah,

01:14:03--> 01:14:05

what did they say? They said that how

01:14:05--> 01:14:06

many

01:14:06--> 01:14:09

times has it happened before that a small

01:14:09--> 01:14:09

group

01:14:10--> 01:14:11

overcomes a larger group

01:14:12--> 01:14:14

by the permission of Allah?

01:14:14--> 01:14:17

Meaning victory comes from Allah. You do what

01:14:17--> 01:14:17

you can

01:14:18--> 01:14:20

and success comes from Allah. And this is

01:14:20--> 01:14:23

important to remember because sometimes we are working

01:14:23--> 01:14:26

very, very hard towards our goals,

01:14:27--> 01:14:30

and we don't see any tangible result,

01:14:30--> 01:14:32

or we become impatient.

01:14:33--> 01:14:35

And what happens to some people is that

01:14:35--> 01:14:38

they literally burn themselves to the ground. Right?

01:14:38--> 01:14:40

That they overexhaust

01:14:40--> 01:14:41

themselves.

01:14:41--> 01:14:45

They work way too hard beyond what they're

01:14:45--> 01:14:47

what they are capable of doing. They they

01:14:47--> 01:14:48

overburden themselves.

01:14:49--> 01:14:51

And what happens to some other people is

01:14:51--> 01:14:52

that they quit.

01:14:53--> 01:14:55

What we need to remember is that success

01:14:56--> 01:14:57

comes from Allah,

01:14:58--> 01:15:00

not just your work.

01:15:01--> 01:15:02

You achieve your goals

01:15:03--> 01:15:05

when Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

01:15:05--> 01:15:07

facilitates them for you.

01:15:07--> 01:15:09

You cannot acquire them yourself.

01:15:10--> 01:15:11

It's it's not possible.

01:15:13--> 01:15:16

Success and victory, they come from Allah subhanahu

01:15:16--> 01:15:16

wa ta'ala.

01:15:17--> 01:15:18

So what do you do then? You do

01:15:18--> 01:15:20

whatever that is within your capacity.

01:15:21--> 01:15:22

Whatever Allah

01:15:22--> 01:15:24

has imposed on you

01:15:24--> 01:15:27

and leave the results to Allah.

01:15:28--> 01:15:29

We see also,

01:15:30--> 01:15:32

that they made dua to Allah when they

01:15:32--> 01:15:33

were when they were,

01:15:33--> 01:15:35

when they faced the enemy, when they faced

01:15:35--> 01:15:38

Jalut. In Surat Al Baqarah verse 250, we

01:15:38--> 01:15:39

learn, they prayed

01:15:42--> 01:15:45

that, oh, our Lord pour down patience on

01:15:45--> 01:15:46

us.

01:15:46--> 01:15:49

You know, there there's this concept that that,

01:15:50--> 01:15:52

Yani, we should not be asking Allah

01:15:53--> 01:15:54

for patience at all.

01:15:55--> 01:15:57

You don't ask Allah

01:15:57--> 01:15:58

for hardship

01:15:58--> 01:16:00

and then patience on hardship.

01:16:01--> 01:16:01

No.

01:16:02--> 01:16:04

But when you are in hardship,

01:16:05--> 01:16:07

then yes, you need patience.

01:16:07--> 01:16:08

So you ask Allah

01:16:09--> 01:16:11

for patience, and not just a little bit,

01:16:11--> 01:16:13

you ask for a lot of it.

01:16:16--> 01:16:17

Is to literally

01:16:18--> 01:16:21

turn a con a a container over. Like,

01:16:21--> 01:16:23

imagine a bucket that's full of water, you

01:16:23--> 01:16:24

turn it over.

01:16:25--> 01:16:28

So what is meant is that give us

01:16:28--> 01:16:30

a lot of patience because that is what

01:16:30--> 01:16:30

we need.

01:16:32--> 01:16:34

And make our feet firm

01:16:36--> 01:16:38

and help us give us victory against

01:16:38--> 01:16:39

the disbelieving people.

01:16:40--> 01:16:43

So set high goals. Your highest goal is

01:16:43--> 01:16:45

Jannah. It is the approval of Allah.

01:16:46--> 01:16:49

And every sub goal that you set, it

01:16:49--> 01:16:51

should be leading you towards your greatest goal.

01:16:52--> 01:16:54

Then have firm resolve.

01:16:54--> 01:16:57

Have the intention and resolve, and do not

01:16:57--> 01:16:59

be swayed by what people say or by

01:16:59--> 01:17:00

the hardships that you experience.

01:17:01--> 01:17:02

And then finally,

01:17:02--> 01:17:05

put in the hard work that is required,

01:17:05--> 01:17:07

but know that results,

01:17:08--> 01:17:09

success comes from Allah

01:17:10--> 01:17:12

alone. It is with his mercy that we

01:17:12--> 01:17:13

enter paradise,

01:17:13--> 01:17:15

not by our own efforts as we learned

01:17:15--> 01:17:16

earlier.

01:17:17--> 01:17:19

Alright. Let's hear from you.

01:17:19--> 01:17:23

Any reflections, comments? Bismillah. Let me see in

01:17:23--> 01:17:23

the

01:17:27--> 01:17:28

Smanda.

01:17:29--> 01:17:30

Alright. So, Launj, go ahead.

01:17:38--> 01:17:40

We're I think we were having a battle

01:17:40--> 01:17:41

over the microphone.

01:17:43--> 01:17:44

You were saying how

01:17:46--> 01:17:48

it's important to be, like, in the right

01:17:48--> 01:17:50

environment, like, have the right people around you

01:17:50--> 01:17:52

to help. I was I was looking for,

01:17:53--> 01:17:56

the ayah, and I can't find it, where

01:17:56--> 01:17:57

Allah tells,

01:17:57--> 01:17:58

the prophet that

01:18:01--> 01:18:04

if the hypocrites are with you in battle,

01:18:05--> 01:18:06

they will bring you down.

01:18:06--> 01:18:09

And I I was thinking how this is

01:18:10--> 01:18:13

an advice that we can use every day.

01:18:13--> 01:18:15

If you have people who don't want you

01:18:15--> 01:18:18

to succeed around you, that's going to make

01:18:18--> 01:18:20

you, reaching your aspirations

01:18:21--> 01:18:22

very difficult.

01:18:22--> 01:18:25

So choose who you have around you

01:18:25--> 01:18:27

in terms of goodness and in terms of

01:18:27--> 01:18:28

avoiding the bad.

01:18:29--> 01:18:29

Mhmm.

01:18:30--> 01:18:32

And, actually, this is really important because

01:18:33--> 01:18:35

sometimes what happens is that you have a

01:18:35--> 01:18:37

certain goal that you're working towards, and, yes,

01:18:37--> 01:18:38

it requires effort.

01:18:39--> 01:18:39

And,

01:18:40--> 01:18:42

you're able to do that. It just means

01:18:42--> 01:18:43

that, yes, you you

01:18:44--> 01:18:46

are are not able to, you know, have

01:18:46--> 01:18:48

fun like like other people are. Right? You're

01:18:48--> 01:18:49

sleeping less maybe.

01:18:50--> 01:18:52

You you have more work to do,

01:18:52--> 01:18:53

and

01:18:54--> 01:18:56

there are people who will come to you

01:18:56--> 01:18:58

and say, oh, you're working too hard. You

01:18:58--> 01:18:59

know? Take it easy.

01:19:00--> 01:19:02

This is not really required. You know? Like,

01:19:02--> 01:19:04

for example, Quran 3 60 even. Did you

01:19:04--> 01:19:07

is it followed is it part of fasting

01:19:07--> 01:19:10

to attend this program? No. It's not. It's

01:19:10--> 01:19:11

not part of fasting.

01:19:12--> 01:19:15

But it requires that you spend some time,

01:19:15--> 01:19:16

you know, watching, listening,

01:19:17--> 01:19:18

taking notes

01:19:18--> 01:19:20

every single day without a break.

01:19:20--> 01:19:23

So maybe somebody comes and says, you don't

01:19:23--> 01:19:25

have to do this, you know, take it

01:19:25--> 01:19:27

easy. Go get some sleep.

01:19:27--> 01:19:28

Right?

01:19:28--> 01:19:28

And

01:19:30--> 01:19:32

these kind of people, even though they mean

01:19:32--> 01:19:33

so well,

01:19:34--> 01:19:34

sometimes

01:19:35--> 01:19:37

they can really bring us down

01:19:38--> 01:19:40

Because then it we we begin to have

01:19:40--> 01:19:41

self pity,

01:19:42--> 01:19:44

and we lower our standards and and our

01:19:44--> 01:19:45

goals.

01:19:46--> 01:19:48

And that is very, very dangerous for us.

01:19:49--> 01:19:52

That happens a lot in Talim al Quran

01:19:52--> 01:19:54

when we're doing the 18 months full time

01:19:54--> 01:19:55

program.

01:19:55--> 01:19:56

People have to battle

01:19:57--> 01:19:59

their own families and their own friends to

01:19:59--> 01:20:01

to stay in the program.

01:20:01--> 01:20:02

Yeah.

01:20:04--> 01:20:05

But I recommend it.

01:20:07--> 01:20:09

Yeah. That's the thing. When you do something

01:20:09--> 01:20:10

that is hard,

01:20:11--> 01:20:13

yes, it's hard. But you know what? Allah

01:20:14--> 01:20:18

lets you experience its sweetness, and then you

01:20:18--> 01:20:18

have

01:20:19--> 01:20:19

you experience

01:20:20--> 01:20:23

so much joy in that that you wouldn't

01:20:23--> 01:20:24

have it any other way.

01:20:25--> 01:20:27

Right? You know, like, for example, you see

01:20:27--> 01:20:29

someone working out and you're like, what's wrong

01:20:29--> 01:20:31

with you? Like, why are you why are

01:20:31--> 01:20:32

you

01:20:32--> 01:20:34

jumping and, you know, what what what why

01:20:34--> 01:20:37

are you doing this to yourself? Like, why?

01:20:37--> 01:20:39

It it doesn't make sense to you maybe.

01:20:39--> 01:20:41

Right? You're like, just sit on the couch,

01:20:41--> 01:20:43

just have fun, drink some, you know, Coke,

01:20:43--> 01:20:44

have some fries.

01:20:45--> 01:20:47

But this is a person who's eating healthy.

01:20:47--> 01:20:49

They're walking, like, 20 k steps every day,

01:20:49--> 01:20:51

and then, you know, they're working out in

01:20:51--> 01:20:52

the gym also.

01:20:52--> 01:20:54

And I'm like, why? Because

01:20:54--> 01:20:57

what how it makes them feel in their

01:20:57--> 01:20:57

body,

01:20:59--> 01:21:01

they they actually love it.

01:21:01--> 01:21:03

Right? So this is this is the beauty

01:21:03--> 01:21:05

of hard work that you begin

01:21:06--> 01:21:07

to enjoy it.

01:21:07--> 01:21:10

So don't be scared of hard work.

01:21:11--> 01:21:12

There's this,

01:21:13--> 01:21:16

verses of poetry in Arabic that

01:21:16--> 01:21:20

which basically means that that when the heat

01:21:20--> 01:21:21

of the summer

01:21:21--> 01:21:22

bothers you

01:21:23--> 01:21:25

and the and

01:21:26--> 01:21:28

the cold of the winter also, you know,

01:21:28--> 01:21:31

bothers you and the beauty of springtime distracts

01:21:31--> 01:21:33

you, then when are you going to gain

01:21:33--> 01:21:33

knowledge?

01:21:34--> 01:21:36

Right? Meaning, if you're going to be constantly

01:21:36--> 01:21:38

distracted by one thing or the other,

01:21:39--> 01:21:41

then when are you going to accomplish your

01:21:41--> 01:21:41

goals?

01:21:41--> 01:21:44

There's always going to be something that's happening

01:21:44--> 01:21:46

in your life that's gonna make you uncomfortable,

01:21:47--> 01:21:48

but you have to set a goal and

01:21:48--> 01:21:49

you have to strive towards it.

01:21:52--> 01:21:53

Next person.

01:21:56--> 01:21:57

Aisha,

01:21:58--> 01:21:59

go ahead.

01:22:05--> 01:22:08

My reflection for today is has to do

01:22:08--> 01:22:10

with our ability, what you just mentioned.

01:22:11--> 01:22:13

Because it got me thinking a lot that

01:22:13--> 01:22:13

if

01:22:14--> 01:22:15

I've been able

01:22:16--> 01:22:16

to pursue

01:22:17--> 01:22:19

this journey from day 1

01:22:19--> 01:22:21

up to day 29, and I've been able

01:22:21--> 01:22:22

to be consistent,

01:22:22--> 01:22:25

then it has only firmed my resolve that,

01:22:27--> 01:22:28

I can pursue

01:22:28--> 01:22:32

more Islamic content, and I can follow through.

01:22:32--> 01:22:32

And

01:22:33--> 01:22:35

I'll be able to learn more and more

01:22:35--> 01:22:36

and more. And

01:22:37--> 01:22:39

I'll be better and keep on improving.

01:22:41--> 01:22:42

For all that you do.

01:22:46--> 01:22:47

And, you know, when you accomplish

01:22:48--> 01:22:50

any goal, like even a small one,

01:22:51--> 01:22:52

make sure that you

01:22:53--> 01:22:54

thank Allah's

01:22:54--> 01:22:55

for that.

01:22:56--> 01:22:58

You know, the prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam, has

01:22:58--> 01:22:59

told in the Quran,

01:23:09--> 01:23:11

That when victory comes, then what do you

01:23:11--> 01:23:13

do? You glorify Allah.

01:23:13--> 01:23:16

Right? You you praise him. You seek his

01:23:16--> 01:23:16

forgiveness.

01:23:17--> 01:23:18

And,

01:23:19--> 01:23:21

also we learn about Surah Al Kawthar.

01:23:25--> 01:23:25

When Allah

01:23:26--> 01:23:27

gives you a blessing

01:23:28--> 01:23:29

then you

01:23:29--> 01:23:30

worship him

01:23:30--> 01:23:31

and you,

01:23:31--> 01:23:32

thank him

01:23:33--> 01:23:35

through through through worship and praise.

01:23:36--> 01:23:38

Why? So that he gives you more opportunities.

01:23:41--> 01:23:43

Sakina, go ahead.

01:23:52--> 01:23:52

Go ahead,

01:23:56--> 01:23:57

can you hear me? Yep.

01:23:59--> 01:24:01

I was, today's session made me reflect on

01:24:01--> 01:24:04

the thing of intention that many times there's

01:24:04--> 01:24:06

the case that some people, they have these

01:24:06--> 01:24:07

beautiful intentions.

01:24:08--> 01:24:10

They work very, very hard for it as

01:24:10--> 01:24:10

well.

01:24:12--> 01:24:14

But due to jealousy from people,

01:24:14--> 01:24:17

they their journey is very much up and

01:24:17--> 01:24:20

down, up and down. There's a typical scenario.

01:24:20--> 01:24:22

People say, I have the books open in

01:24:22--> 01:24:24

front of me. I've got a couple of

01:24:24--> 01:24:25

hours in front of me, and I can't

01:24:25--> 01:24:26

do a thing.

01:24:27--> 01:24:27

SubhanAllah.

01:24:28--> 01:24:30

And despite those ups and downs

01:24:31--> 01:24:31

that

01:24:32--> 01:24:35

nothing happens except if Allah wills it, that

01:24:35--> 01:24:36

they still make it eventually.

01:24:37--> 01:24:38

And it just made me think that the

01:24:38--> 01:24:41

sincerity of the intention is so important.

01:24:42--> 01:24:44

That that's re that opens the door to

01:24:44--> 01:24:44

everything.

01:24:45--> 01:24:46

Mhmm.

01:24:46--> 01:24:48

And of course, the hard work.

01:24:48--> 01:24:51

Yeah. This is very important, the sincerity of

01:24:51--> 01:24:52

intention. And, also,

01:24:53--> 01:24:55

when you know that there are people who

01:24:55--> 01:24:57

are envious of you, right,

01:24:57--> 01:25:00

then you don't share every goal and aspiration

01:25:00--> 01:25:01

with them.

01:25:01--> 01:25:03

You don't you don't tell them about what

01:25:03--> 01:25:04

you're doing

01:25:04--> 01:25:07

because you don't want to spark their and

01:25:08--> 01:25:08

unnecessarily,

01:25:09--> 01:25:11

you know, create difficulty for you.

01:25:12--> 01:25:14

Exactly. Keep it low key to the to

01:25:14--> 01:25:15

to the best of your ability.

01:25:16--> 01:25:16

Alright.

01:25:17--> 01:25:18

So, yeah, go ahead.

01:25:24--> 01:25:26

Today's reflection would be

01:25:27--> 01:25:29

nothing is impossible by the one who has

01:25:29--> 01:25:32

created everything for us. And like, sister Sakina

01:25:32--> 01:25:32

just mentioned,

01:25:33--> 01:25:37

Hazard, Nazar, these obstacle come and I personally

01:25:37--> 01:25:38

face it myself as well.

01:25:39--> 01:25:41

But through this platform and as we are

01:25:41--> 01:25:41

ending,

01:25:42--> 01:25:44

Almagrib, the last 30 days, I promised myself

01:25:44--> 01:25:46

I could, you know, finish the Quran, which

01:25:46--> 01:25:47

I could not.

01:25:47--> 01:25:49

But the last 30 days, definitely through this

01:25:49--> 01:25:52

Ramadan 360, I could be on track, and

01:25:52--> 01:25:54

I just wanted to take the opportunity to

01:25:54--> 01:25:55

thank you and the full team myself

01:25:56--> 01:25:57

for bringing many of us on track. And,

01:25:57--> 01:26:00

inshallah, we can continue this till next Ramadan

01:26:00--> 01:26:02

and for the rest of our life. Inshallah.

01:26:09--> 01:26:12

Alright. Last comment. Sister Lukey, go ahead.

01:26:19--> 01:26:21

When, when I look at the

01:26:21--> 01:26:24

seeking knowledge, for me, it's like planting a

01:26:24--> 01:26:26

seed. If we plant a seed, we got

01:26:26--> 01:26:28

to take care. If we want it to

01:26:28--> 01:26:30

be to have fruits and everything,

01:26:31--> 01:26:32

we got to take care. We got to

01:26:32--> 01:26:35

water it. We got to work hard on

01:26:35--> 01:26:35

it.

01:26:36--> 01:26:36

That's,

01:26:37--> 01:26:38

one thing. And second

01:26:39--> 01:26:40

second thing that I was,

01:26:41--> 01:26:42

reflecting on as well,

01:26:43--> 01:26:46

I personally don't worry about what people say

01:26:46--> 01:26:46

because

01:26:47--> 01:26:50

that's their life, and that's my life. I'm

01:26:50--> 01:26:51

very determined,

01:26:51--> 01:26:53

and I get on with what I want

01:26:53--> 01:26:54

to do.

01:26:55--> 01:26:58

But I did find that sometimes these same

01:26:58--> 01:27:00

people that talk say, don't do that. Why

01:27:00--> 01:27:02

are you wasting your time?

01:27:02--> 01:27:04

You know, it's time you stop. You

01:27:05--> 01:27:07

they give you all kind, million of excuses,

01:27:08--> 01:27:10

and I would be like and,

01:27:11--> 01:27:14

after a couple of years, they regretted themselves.

01:27:15--> 01:27:17

Why didn't I do that?

01:27:18--> 01:27:20

Yeah. Well, there is the way you bring

01:27:20--> 01:27:22

a child up. I said,

01:27:22--> 01:27:24

oh, what look at you and look at

01:27:24--> 01:27:26

my daughter now.

01:27:26--> 01:27:29

And after a couple of years so from

01:27:29--> 01:27:30

that is,

01:27:31--> 01:27:31

just

01:27:32--> 01:27:33

be deaf sometime.

01:27:39--> 01:27:41

Alright. I just wanted to quickly mention the

01:27:41--> 01:27:43

dua that sheikh had mentioned.

01:27:48--> 01:27:51

O Allah, I ask you for steadfastness in

01:27:51--> 01:27:52

all my affairs

01:27:53--> 01:27:55

and determination in following the right path.

01:27:56--> 01:27:59

Because sometimes we have these goals, but then

01:27:59--> 01:28:01

we we we don't have that determination. We

01:28:01--> 01:28:03

start something and then after a couple weeks,

01:28:03--> 01:28:04

we stop.

01:28:05--> 01:28:08

Right? Or when things get tough, we become

01:28:08--> 01:28:10

double minded. So ask Allah

01:28:11--> 01:28:13

for Sabbath or steadfastness and, determination.

01:28:16--> 01:28:19

Alright. Inshallah, we'll conclude over here. Abdul Ahmed,

01:28:20--> 01:28:21

back to you.

01:28:23--> 01:28:24

And thank you so much, and thank you

01:28:24--> 01:28:25

everyone for taking the time to share your

01:28:25--> 01:28:28

reflections as well. Sotataymy, it's been a pleasure

01:28:28--> 01:28:30

working with you over the past, month, the

01:28:30--> 01:28:32

opportunities that we've had. And then you'll you'll

01:28:32--> 01:28:34

be around one more time tomorrow for final

01:28:34--> 01:28:37

reflection. But may Allah bless you for your

01:28:37--> 01:28:40

steadfast nature and being with us day in,

01:28:40--> 01:28:42

day out. It's been a tremendous blessing. May

01:28:42--> 01:28:43

Allah reward you.

01:28:43--> 01:28:44

You too. Assalamu alaykum Assalamu alaykum Assalamu alaykum

01:28:44--> 01:28:45

Assalamu alaykum Assalamu

01:28:46--> 01:28:47

alaykum.

01:28:47--> 01:28:50

A few final announcements for everyone inshaAllah as

01:28:50--> 01:28:52

we begin to close out today.

01:28:53--> 01:28:54

So first on a personal note, I just

01:28:54--> 01:28:56

wanna say it's been an honor to be

01:28:56--> 01:28:58

a part of this community both as a

01:28:58--> 01:29:01

student and participant, and sometimes as a host.

01:29:01--> 01:29:03

It's really been a special time for me.

01:29:03--> 01:29:04

It always is.

01:29:04--> 01:29:05

And Alhamdulillah

01:29:05--> 01:29:08

we know that the, the Ramadan, the month

01:29:08--> 01:29:09

of Ramadan is ending but inshallah to out

01:29:09--> 01:29:10

of the

01:29:10--> 01:29:12

community will continue. I know we'll see a

01:29:12--> 01:29:14

lot of your faces and other al Maghrib

01:29:14--> 01:29:16

endeavors, programs, things of that nature. And we

01:29:16--> 01:29:19

really appreciate the the growth that many of

01:29:19--> 01:29:21

us have had over the past 30 days.

01:29:21--> 01:29:23

But let's not make this the end. Let's

01:29:23--> 01:29:25

make this the beginning inshallah ta'ala. Let's make

01:29:25--> 01:29:27

this the beginning of a a bigger journey

01:29:27--> 01:29:29

of knowledge and connection to Allah Subhanahu Wa

01:29:29--> 01:29:29

Ta'ala,

01:29:30--> 01:29:33

as we conclude this month and move on

01:29:33--> 01:29:35

to what's next for all of us. With

01:29:35--> 01:29:37

that, we want to just let you know

01:29:37--> 01:29:39

a few things. What can I do next?

01:29:39--> 01:29:41

Ramadan's almost over. What how can I spend

01:29:41--> 01:29:42

my time? I wanna stay in the session

01:29:42--> 01:29:45

longer. Sheikh Ammar's YouTube series, the fine the

01:29:45--> 01:29:45

finale,

01:29:46--> 01:29:48

about the name of Allah Al Muhsin

01:29:48--> 01:29:50

is out. So feel free to check that

01:29:50--> 01:29:51

out on Al Muqdib's YouTube channel. We'll get

01:29:51--> 01:29:53

the link in there for you as well.

01:29:53--> 01:29:55

So please do take a look at that.

01:29:55--> 01:29:57

Also, we did see some movement on our

01:29:57--> 01:29:59

campaign as well. If you've enjoyed this session,

01:29:59--> 01:30:01

if you found benefit in it, we just

01:30:01--> 01:30:03

wanna be sure that, you know, you still

01:30:03--> 01:30:05

have an opportunity to support us in these

01:30:05--> 01:30:06

final moments of Ramadan.

01:30:07--> 01:30:09

It is a salah pajaria. All the efforts

01:30:09--> 01:30:11

that we're putting forth to ensure that this

01:30:11--> 01:30:13

content is available and accessible

01:30:14--> 01:30:16

around the globe in a high quality professional

01:30:16--> 01:30:19

way. That is still ongoing. So thank you

01:30:19--> 01:30:22

for your amazing generosity. May allah make

01:30:22--> 01:30:24

it a source of barakah for you and

01:30:24--> 01:30:25

for your families. And

01:30:26--> 01:30:28

we appreciate your continued support of Al Maghrib.

01:30:29--> 01:30:31

And also please continue to support our charity

01:30:31--> 01:30:34

partners. We have HHRD here in the US.

01:30:34--> 01:30:36

We have Islamic Relief in Canada

01:30:36--> 01:30:39

and Forgotten Women in the UK. Those charities

01:30:39--> 01:30:41

doing amazing work as you're considering

01:30:42--> 01:30:43

how to

01:30:43--> 01:30:45

cap off your Ramadan with that last burst

01:30:45--> 01:30:46

of generosity.

01:30:46--> 01:30:48

Please consider all those efforts that we mentioned.

01:30:49--> 01:30:49

Inshallah, tomorrow

01:30:50--> 01:30:52

we do have our final session

01:30:52--> 01:30:54

with Sheikh Saliman Hani. The sub subject will

01:30:54--> 01:30:56

be al istiqama

01:30:56--> 01:30:58

or steadfastness, Insha'Allah.

01:30:58--> 01:30:59

So we look forward to seeing you there.

01:30:59--> 01:31:02

Our final Kahoot is there also. So you

01:31:02--> 01:31:05

have an opportunity to, do the Kahoot. And

01:31:05--> 01:31:07

it's always fun and a great, festive way

01:31:07--> 01:31:09

to end as we close out Ramadan and

01:31:09--> 01:31:11

begins to look toward Eid. With that, may

01:31:11--> 01:31:13

Allah bless you. A lot of you ask

01:31:13--> 01:31:13

for du'a

01:31:14--> 01:31:16

in the chat. Just know that, the Amoghrib

01:31:16--> 01:31:19

family here, we're constantly making du'a. The staff,

01:31:19--> 01:31:20

the, support,

01:31:21--> 01:31:22

the the volunteers.

01:31:22--> 01:31:24

We're making du'a for all of our students.

01:31:24--> 01:31:25

And we hope that that's a a two

01:31:25--> 01:31:26

way street. We we love you for the

01:31:26--> 01:31:28

sake of Allah. And we pray that Allah

01:31:28--> 01:31:30

continues to bless you in all that you

01:31:30--> 01:31:32

inshallah.

01:31:30--> 01:31:32

inshallah.
